Psalms 20

Prayer for Victory over Enemies.

For the music director. A Psalm of David.

1May the Lord answer you 1on a day of trouble! May the 2name of the 3God of Jacob 4protect you!2May He send you help 5from the sanctuary, And 6support you from Zion!3May He 7remember all your meal offerings And 8 9accept your burnt offering! Selah

4May He grant you your 10heart’s desire And 11fulfill your whole plan!5 12We will 13sing for joy over your 14victory, And in the name of our God we will 15set up our banners. May the Lord 16fulfill all your desires.

6Now 17I know that the Lord saves His anointed; He will 18answer him from His holy heaven With the 19 20saving strength of His right hand.7Some praise their chariots and some their 21horses, But 22we will praise the name of the Lord, our God.8They have 23bowed down and fallen, But we have 24risen and stood upright.9 25 26Save, Lord; May the 27King answer us on the day we call.
