Psalms 11

The Lord, a Refuge and Defense.

For the music director. A Psalm of David.

1In the Lord I 1take refuge; How can you say to my soul, “Flee as a bird to your 2mountain?2For, behold, the wicked 3bend the bow, They have 45set their arrow on the string To 6shoot in darkness at the upright in heart.3If the 7foundations are destroyed, What can the righteous do?”

4The Lord is in His 8holy temple; the 9Lord’s 10throne is in heaven; His 11eyes see, His eyelids test the sons of mankind.5The Lord 12tests the righteous and 13the wicked, And His soul hates one who loves violence.6He will 14rain 15coals of fire upon the wicked, 16And brimstone and 17burning wind will be the portion of 18their cup.7For the Lord is 19righteous, 20He loves 21righteousness; The upright will 22see His face.
