Psalms 86

Pleading and Trust.

A Prayer of David.

11Incline Your ear, Lord, and answer me; For I am 2afflicted and needy.23Protect my 4soul, for I am 5godly; You my God, save Your servant who 6trusts in You.3Be 7gracious to me, Lord, For 8I call upon You all day long.4Make the soul of Your servant joyful, For to You, Lord, 9I lift up my soul.5For You, Lord, are 10good, and 11ready to forgive, And 12abundant in mercy to all who call upon You.613Listen, Lord, to my prayer; And give Your attention to the sound of my pleading!7On 14the day of my trouble I will call upon You, For 15You will answer me.8There is 16no one like You among the gods, Lord, Nor are there any works 17like Yours.918All nations whom You have made will come and worship before You, Lord, And they will glorify Your name.10For You are 19great, and You 20do 21wondrous deeds; You alone 22are God.

1123Teach me Your way, Lord; I will walk in Your truth; 24Unite my heart to fear Your name.12I will 25give thanks to You, Lord my God, with all my heart, And I will glorify Your name forever.13For Your graciousness toward me is great, And You have 26saved my soul from the 27depths of 28Sheol.

14God, arrogant men have 29risen up against me, And a gang of violent men have sought my 30life, And they have not set You before them.15But You, Lord, are a 31compassionate and gracious God, Slow to anger and abundant in mercy and 32truth.1633Turn to me, and be gracious to me; 34Grant Your strength to Your servant, And save the 35son of Your maidservant.1736Show me a sign of good, That those who hate me may 37see it and be ashamed, Because You, Lord, 38have helped me and comforted me.
