Jude 1

The Warnings of History to the Ungodly
112Jude, a 3bond-servant of Jesus Christ and brother of 4James,
To 5those who are the called, beloved in God the Father, and 6kept for Jesus Christ: 27May mercy, peace, and love 8be multiplied to you.
39Beloved, while I was making every effort to write you about our 10common salvation, I felt the necessity to write to you appealing that you 11contend earnestly for 12the faith that was once for all time 13handed down to 14the 15saints. 4For certain people have 16crept in unnoticed, those who were long beforehand 1718marked out for this condemnation, ungodly persons who turn 19the grace of our God into 20indecent behavior and 21deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.
5Now I want to 22remind you, though 23you know everything once and for all, that 24the Lord, 25after saving a people out of the land of Egypt, 26subsequently destroyed those who did not believe. 6And 27angels who did not keep their own domain but abandoned their proper dwelling place, these He has 28kept in eternal restraints under darkness for the judgment of the great day, 7just as 29Sodom and Gomorrah and the 30cities around them, since they in the same way as these angels indulged in sexual perversion and 31went after 32strange flesh, are exhibited as an 3334example in undergoing the 35punishment of eternal fire.
8Yet in the same way these people also, dreaming, 36defile the flesh, reject authority, and speak abusively of angelic 37majesties. 9But 38Michael 39the archangel, when he disputed with the devil and argued about 40the body of Moses, did not dare pronounce against him an abusive judgment, but said, “41The Lord rebuke you!” 10But 42these people disparage all the things that they do not understand; and 43all the things that they know by instinct, 44like unreasoning animals, by these things they are destroyed. 11Woe to them! For they have gone 45the way of Cain, and for pay 46they have given themselves up to 47the error of Balaam, and 48perished in the rebellion of Korah. 12These are the ones who are 49hidden reefs 50in your love feasts when they feast with you 51without fear, like shepherds caring only for themselves; 52clouds without water, 53carried along by winds; autumn trees without fruit, 54doubly dead, 55uprooted; 1356wild waves of the sea, churning up 57their own shameful deeds like dirty foam; wandering stars, 58for whom the 59gloom of darkness has been reserved forever.
14It was also about these people that 60Enoch, in the seventh generation from Adam, prophesied, saying, “61Behold, the Lord has come with 62many thousands of His holy ones, 1563to execute judgment upon all, and to convict all the ungodly of all their ungodly deeds which they have done in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which 64ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.” 16These are 65grumblers, finding fault, 66following after their own lusts; 67they speak 68arrogantly, flattering people 69for the sake of gaining an advantage.
Keep Yourselves in the Love of God
17But you, 70beloved, 71ought to remember the words that were spoken beforehand by 72the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ, 18that they were saying to you, “73In the last time there will be mockers, 74following after their own ungodly lusts.” 19These are the ones who cause divisions, 7576worldly-minded, 77devoid of the Spirit. 20But you, 78beloved, 79building yourselves up on your most holy 80faith, 81praying in the Holy Spirit, 21keep yourselves in the love of God, 82looking forward to the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life. 22And have mercy on some, who are doubting; 23save others, 83snatching them out of the fire; and on some have mercy with fear, 84hating even the garment polluted by the flesh.
2485Now to Him who is able to protect you from stumbling, and to 86make you stand in the presence of His glory, blameless with 87great joy, 25to the 88only 89God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, 90be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority 91before all time and now and 92forever. Amen.
