Psalms 3

Morning Prayer of Trust in God.

A Psalm of David, when 2 Sam 15:13-17, 29he fled from his son Absalom.

1Lord, how 1my enemies have increased! Many are rising up against me.2Many are saying of my soul, “There is no 2salvation for him in God.” Selah

3But You, Lord, are 3a shield around me, My 4glory, and the One who 5lifts my head.4I was crying out to the Lord with my voice, And He 6answered me from 7His holy 8mountain. Selah5 9I 10lay down and slept; I awoke, for the Lord sustains me.6I will 11not be afraid of ten thousands of people Who have 12set themselves against me all around.

7 13Arise, Lord; 14save me, my God! For You 15have 16struck all my enemies on the 17cheek; You 18have 19shattered the teeth of the wicked.8 20 21Salvation belongs to the Lord; May Your 22blessing 23be upon Your people! Selah
