Psalms 135

Praise the Lord’s Wonderful Works. Futility of Idols.

112Praise 3the Lord! Praise the name of the Lord; Praise Him, you 4servants of the Lord,2You who stand in the house of the Lord, In the 5courtyards of the house of our God!36Praise 7the Lord, for 8the Lord is good; 9Sing praises to His name, 10for it is lovely.4For 11the Lord has 12chosen Jacob for Himself, Israel as His 13own possession.

5For I know that 14the Lord is great And that our Lord is 15above all gods.616Whatever the Lord pleases, He does, In heaven and on earth, in the seas and in all the ocean depths.717He 18causes the 19mist to ascend from the ends of the earth, 20He 21makes lightning for the rain; 22He 23brings forth the wind from His treasuries.

824He 25struck the firstborn of Egypt, 26Both human firstborn and animal.927He sent 28signs and wonders into your midst, Egypt, Upon 29Pharaoh and all his servants.103031He 32struck many nations And brought death to mighty kings,1133Sihon, king of the Amorites, 34Og, king of Bashan, And 35all the kingdoms of Canaan;12And He 36gave their land as an inheritance, An inheritance to His people Israel.13Your 37name, Lord, is everlasting, The mention of You, Lord, is 38throughout all generations.14For the Lord will 39judge His people And 40will have compassion on His servants.15The 41idols of the nations are nothing but silver and gold, The work of human hands.16They have mouths, but they do not speak; They have eyes, but they do not see;17They have ears, but they do not hear, Nor is there any breath at all in their mouths.18Those who make them will become like them, Yes, everyone who trusts in them.

19House of 42Israel, bless the Lord; House of Aaron, bless the Lord;20House of Levi, bless the Lord; You 43who 44revere the Lord, bless the Lord.21Blessed be the Lord 45from Zion, Who 46dwells in Jerusalem. 47Praise 48the Lord!
