Psalms 30
Thanksgiving for Rescue from Death.
A Psalm; a Song at the Dedication of the House. A Psalm of David.
1I will 1exalt You, Lord, for You have 2lifted me up, And have not let my 3enemies rejoice over me.2Lord my God, I 4cried to You for help, and You 5healed me.3Lord, You have 6brought up my soul from 7Sheol; You have kept me alive, 8that I would not 9go down to the pit.410Sing praise to the Lord, you 11His godly ones, And 12praise the mention of His holiness.5For 13His anger is but for a moment, His 14favor is for a lifetime; Weeping may 15last for the night, But a shout of joy comes in the morning.
6Now as for me, I said in my prosperity, “I will 16never be moved.”7Lord, by Your favor You have made my mountain to stand strong; You 17hid Your face, I was dismayed.8To You, Lord, I called, And to the Lord I pleaded for compassion:9“What gain is there in my blood, if I 18go down to the pit? Will the 19dust praise You? Will it declare Your faithfulness?
10“20Hear, Lord, and be gracious to me; Lord, be my 21helper.”11You have turned 22my mourning into dancing for me; You have 23untied my sackcloth and encircled me with 24joy,12That my 2526soul may sing praise to You and not be silent. Lord my God, I will 27give thanks to You forever.
