The Blessings of Redemption

1Paul, 1an apostle of 2Christ Jesus 34by the will of God,

To the 56saints who are 7at 8Ephesus and 9are faithful in 10Christ Jesus: 211Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

312Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in 13the heavenly places in Christ, 4just as 14He chose us in Him before 15the foundation of the world, that we would be 16holy and blameless before 17Him. 18In love 519He 20predestined us to 21adoption as sons and daughters through Jesus Christ to Himself, 22according to the good pleasure of His will, 623to the praise of the glory of His grace, with which He favored us in 24the Beloved. 725In 26Him we have 27redemption 28through His blood, the 29forgiveness of our wrongdoings, according to 30the riches of His grace 8which He 31lavished on 32us. In all wisdom and insight 9He 3334made known to us the mystery of His will, 35according to His good pleasure which He 36set forth in Him, 10regarding His plan of 37the fullness of the times, 38to bring all things together in Christ, things 39in the heavens and things on the earth. 1140In Him we also 41have obtained an inheritance, having been 42predestined 43according to the purpose of Him who works all things 44in accordance with the plan of His will, 12to the end that 45we who were the first to hope in the 46Christ would be 47to the praise of His glory. 13In 48Him, 49you also, after listening to 50the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation--having also 51believed, you were 52sealed in 53Him with 54the Holy Spirit of the promise, 14who is a 55first installment of 56our inheritance, in regard to the 57redemption of 58God’s own possession, 59to the praise of His glory.

15For this reason I too, 60having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which exists among you and 61your love for 62all the 63saints, 1664do not cease giving thanks for you, 65while making mention of you in my prayers; 17that the 66God of our Lord Jesus Christ, 67the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of 68wisdom and of 69revelation in the 70knowledge of Him. 18I pray that 71the eyes of your heart 72may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the 73hope of His 74calling, what are 75the riches of the glory of 76His inheritance in 77the 78saints, 19and what is the 79boundless greatness of His power toward us who believe. 80These are in accordance with the working of the 81strength of His might 20which He brought about in Christ, when He 82raised Him from the dead and 83seated Him at His right hand in 84the heavenly places, 21far above 85all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every 86name that is named, not only in 87this age but also in the one to come. 22And He 88put all things in subjection under His feet, and made Him 89head over all things to the church, 23which is His 90body, the 91fullness of Him who 92fills 93all in all.
