Psalms 92

Praise for the Lord’s Goodness.

A Psalm, a Song for the Sabbath day.

1It is 1good to give thanks to the Lord And to 2sing praises to Your name, Most High;2To 3declare Your goodness in the morning And Your 4faithfulness by 5night,36With the 7ten-stringed lute and 8with the 9harp, 10With resounding music on the 11lyre.4For You, Lord, have made me joyful by 12what You 13have done, I will 14sing for joy over the 15works of Your hands.

5How 16great are Your works, Lord! Your 1718thoughts are very 19deep.6A 20stupid person has no knowledge, Nor does a 21foolish person understand this:7When the wicked 22sprouted up like grass And all 23who did injustice flourished, It was only that they might be 24destroyed forevermore.8But You, Lord, are 25on high forever.9For, behold, Your enemies, Lord, For, behold, 26Your enemies will perish; All who do injustice will be 27scattered.

10But You have exalted my 28horn like that of the wild ox; I have 29been 30anointed with fresh oil.11And my eye has 31looked at my enemies, My ears hear of the evildoers who rise up against me.12The 32righteous person will 33flourish like the palm tree, He will grow like a 34cedar in Lebanon.1335Planted in the house of the Lord, They will flourish 36in the courtyards of our God.14They will still 3738yield fruit in advanced age; They will be 39full of sap and very green,15To 40declare that 41the Lord is just; He is my 42rock, and there is 43no malice in Him.
