Psalms 85
Prayer for God’s Mercy upon the Nation.
For the music director. A Psalm of the sons of Korah.
1Lord, You showed 1favor to Your land; You 2restored the fortunes of Jacob.2You 3forgave the guilt of Your people; You 4covered all their sin. Selah3You 5withdrew all Your fury; You 6turned away from Your burning anger.
47Restore us, God of our salvation, And 8cause Your indignation toward us to cease.5Will 9You be angry with us forever? Will You prolong Your anger to 10all generations?6Will You not 1112revive us again, So that Your people may 13rejoice in You?7Show us Your mercy, Lord, And 14grant us Your salvation.
815I will hear what God the Lord will say; For He will 16speak peace to His people, to His godly ones; And may they not 17turn back to 18foolishness.9Certainly 19His salvation is near to those who 20fear Him, That 21glory may dwell in our land.1022Graciousness and 23truth have met together; 24Righteousness and peace have kissed each other.1125Truth 26sprouts from the earth, And righteousness looks down from heaven.12Indeed, 27the Lord will give what is good, And our 28land will yield its produce.1329Righteousness will go before Him And will make His footsteps into a way.
