Psalms 124
Praise for Rescue from Enemies.
A Song of Ascents, of David.
1“1Had it not been the Lord who was on our side,” 2Let Israel say,2“Had it not been the Lord who was on our side When people rose up against us,3Then they would have 3swallowed us alive, When their 4anger was kindled against us;4Then the 5waters would have flooded over us, The stream would have 6swept over our souls;5Then the 7raging waters would have 8swept over our souls.”
6Blessed be the Lord, Who has not given us 9to be 10torn by their teeth.7Our souls have 11escaped 12like a bird from the trapper’s 13snare; The snare is broken and we have escaped.8Our 14help is in the name of the Lord, Who 15made heaven and earth.
