Psalms 79:5-12
51How long, Lord? Will You be angry forever? Will Your 2jealousy 3burn like fire?64Pour out Your wrath upon the nations which 5do not know You, And upon the kingdoms which 6do not call upon Your name.7For they have 7devoured Jacob And 8laid waste his 9settlement.
810Do not 11hold us responsible for 12the guilty deeds of our forefathers; Let Your compassion come quickly to 13meet us, For we have 14become very low.915Help us, God of our salvation, for the glory of 16Your name; And save us and 1718forgive our sins 19for the sake of Your name.1020Why should the nations say, “Where is their God?” Let 21vengeance for the blood of Your servants which has been shed Be known among the nations in our sight.11Let 22the groaning of the prisoner come before You; According to the greatness of Your 23power, let 24those who are 25doomed to die remain.12And return to our neighbors 26seven times as much 27into their lap Their 28taunts with which they have taunted You, Lord.
