Psalms 72:5-17

5 1May they fear You 2while the sun shines, And 3as long as the moon shines, throughout all generations.6 4May he come down 5like rain upon the mown grass, Like 6showers that water the earth.7 7May the 8righteous flourish in his days, As well as an 9abundance of peace, until the moon is no more.

8May he also rule 10from sea to sea, And from the Euphrates River to the ends of the earth.9 11May 12the nomads of the desert 13bow before him, And his enemies 14lick the dust.10 15May the kings of 16Tarshish and of the 17 18islands bring gifts; May the kings of 19Sheba and 20Seba 21offer tributes.11 22And may all 23kings bow down before him, All 24nations serve him.

12For he will 25save the needy when he cries for help, The 26afflicted also, and him who has no helper.13He will have 27compassion on the poor and needy, And he will save the 28lives of the needy.14He will 29 30rescue their 31life from oppression and violence, And their blood will be 32precious in his sight;15So may he live, and may the 33gold of Sheba be given to him; And 34they are to pray for him continually; 35They are to bless him all day long.

16May there be abundance of grain on the earth on top of the mountains; Its fruit will wave like the cedars of 36Lebanon; And may those from the city flourish like the 37vegetation of the earth.17May his 38name endure forever; May his name produce descendants 39 40as long as the sun shines; And may people 41wish blessings on themselves by him; 42May all nations call him blessed.
