Psalms 49:13-20

13This is the 1way of those who are foolish, And of those after them who 2approve their words. Selah14Like sheep they sink down 3to 4Sheol; Death will be their shepherd; And the 5upright will rule over them in the morning, And their form shall be for 6Sheol 7to consume 8So that they have no lofty home.15But God will 9redeem my soul from the 10power of 11Sheol, For 12He will receive me. Selah

16Do not be afraid 13when a person becomes rich, When the splendor of his house is increased;17For when he dies, he will 14take nothing with him; His 15wealth will not descend after him.18Though while he lives he 16congratulates 17himself-- And though people praise you when you do well for yourself--19 18He will 19go to the generation of his fathers; They will never see 20the light.20 21Mankind in its splendor, yet without understanding, Is 22like the animals that 23perish.
