Psalms 106:24-33

24Then they 1rejected the 2pleasant land; They 3did not believe His word,25But 4grumbled in their tents; They did not listen to the voice of the Lord.26Therefore He 5 6swore to them That He would have them fall in the wilderness,27And that He would 7bring down their 8descendants among the nations, And 9scatter them in the lands.

28They also 10followed 11Baal-peor, And ate 12sacrifices offered to the dead.29So they 13provoked Him to anger with their deeds, And a plague broke out among them.30Then Phinehas 14stood up and 15intervened, And so the 16plague was brought to a halt.31And it was 17credited to him as righteousness, To all generations forever.

32They also 18provoked Him to wrath at the waters of 19Meribah, So that it 20went badly for Moses on their account.33Because they 21were rebellious against 22His Spirit, He spoke rashly with his lips.
