Psalms 102:1-28
112Hear my prayer, Lord! And let my cry for help 3come to You.24Do not hide Your face from me on the day of my distress; 5Incline Your ear to me; On the day when I call 6answer me quickly.3For my days 7have ended in smoke, And my 8bones have been scorched like a hearth.4My heart 9has been struck like 10grass and has 11withered, Indeed, I 12forget to eat my bread.5Because of the 13loudness of my groaning My 14bones 15cling to my flesh.6I resemble a 16pelican of the wilderness; I have become like an owl of the ruins.7I 17lie awake, I have become like a solitary bird on a housetop.
8My enemies 18have taunted me all day long; Those who 1920deride me 21have used my name as a 22curse.9For I have eaten ashes like bread, And 23mixed my drink with weeping1024Because of Your indignation and Your wrath; For You have 25lifted me up and thrown me away.11My days are like a 2627lengthened shadow, And 28I 29wither away like 30grass.
12But You, Lord, 3132remain forever, And Your 3334name remains to all generations.13You will 35arise and have 36compassion on Zion; For 37it is time to be gracious to her, For the 38appointed time has come.14Surely Your servants 39take pleasure in her stones, And feel pity for her dust.1540So the 4142nations will fear the name of the Lord, And 43all the kings of the earth, Your glory.16For the Lord has 44built up Zion; He has 45appeared in His glory.17He has 46turned His attention to the prayer of the 47destitute And has not despised their prayer.
1848This will be 49written for the 50generation to come, 51That 52a people yet to be created 53may praise 54the Lord:19For He 55looked down from His holy height; 56From heaven the Lord looked 57upon the earth,20To hear the 58groaning of the prisoner, To 59set free 60those who were doomed to death,21So that people may 61tell of the name of the Lord in Zion, And His praise in Jerusalem,22When 62the peoples are gathered together, And the kingdoms, to serve the Lord.
23He has broken my strength in the way; He has 63shortened my days.24I say, “My God, 64do not take me away in the middle of my days, Your 65years are 66throughout all generations.25In time of old You 67founded the earth, And the 68heavens are the work of Your hands.2669Even they will 70perish, but You endure; All of them will wear out like a garment; Like clothing You will change them and they will pass away.27But You are 7172the same, And Your years will not come to an end.28The 73children of Your servants will continue, And their 7475descendants will be established before You.”
