Psalms 78:17-31

17Yet they still continued to sin against Him, To 1rebel against the Most High in the desert.18And in their heart they 2put God to the test By asking for 3food 4that suited their taste.19Then they spoke against God; They said, “5Can God prepare a table in the wilderness?20Behold, He 6struck the rock so that waters gushed out, And streams were overflowing; Can He also provide bread? Will He prepare 7meat for His people?”

21Therefore the Lord heard and 8was 9full of wrath; And a fire was kindled against Jacob, And anger also mounted against Israel,22Because they 10did not believe in God And did not trust in His salvation.23Yet He commanded the clouds above And 11opened the doors of heaven;24He 12rained down manna upon them to eat, And gave them 1314food from heaven.25Man ate the bread of 15angels; He sent them 16food 1718in abundance.26He 19made the east wind blow in the sky And by His 20power He directed the south wind.27When He rained meat upon them like the dust, Even 21winged fowl like the sand of the seas,28He let them fall in the midst of 22their camp, All around their dwellings.29So they 23ate and were well filled, And He 24satisfied their longing.3025Yet before they had abandoned their longing, 26While their food was in their mouths,31The 27anger of God rose against them And killed 28some of their 29strongest ones, And 30subdued the choice men of Israel.
