Psalms 74:1-8

11God, why have You 2rejected us forever? Why does Your anger 3smoke against the 4sheep of Your 5pasture?2Remember Your congregation, which You 6purchased of old, Which You have 7redeemed to be the 8tribe of Your inheritance; And this Mount 9Zion, where You have dwelt.310Step toward the 1112irreparable ruins; The enemy 13has damaged everything in the sanctuary.4Your adversaries have 14roared in the midst of Your meeting place; They have set up their 15own signs as 16signs.5It 17seems like one bringing up His 18axe into a 19forest of trees.6And now they break down 20all its 21carved work With axe and hammers.7They have 2223burned Your sanctuary 24to the ground; They have 25defiled the dwelling place of Your name.8They 26said in their heart, “Let’s 27completely 28subdue them.” They have burned all the meeting places of God in the land.
