Psalms 40:1-4

1I 1waited 2patiently for the Lord; And He reached down to me and 3heard my cry.2He brought me up out of the 4pit of 5destruction, out of the mud; And 6He set my feet on a rock, 7making my footsteps firm.3He put a 8new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God; Many will 9see and fear And will trust in the Lord.

4How 10blessed is the man who has made the Lord his trust, And 11has not turned to the 12proud, nor to those who 13become involved in falsehood.
