Psalms 39:1-6

11I said, “I will 2keep watch over my ways So that I 3do not sin with my tongue; I will keep watch over 4my mouth as with a muzzle While the wicked are in my presence.”2I was 5mute 6and silent, I 7refused to say even something good, And my pain was stirred up.3My 8heart was hot within me, While I was musing the fire burned; Then I spoke with my tongue:4“Lord, let me know 9my end, And what is the extent of my days; Let me know how 10transient I am.5Behold, You have made 11my days like 12hand widths, And my 13lifetime as nothing in Your sight; Certainly all mankind standing is 14a mere 15breath. Selah6Certainly every person 16walks around as 17a fleeting shadow; They certainly make an 18uproar for nothing; He 19amasses riches and does not know who will gather them.
