Psalms 118:5-14

5From my 1distress I called upon 2the Lord; 3The Lord answered me and 4put me in an open space.6The Lord is 5for me; I will 6not fear; 7What can man do to me?7The Lord is for me 8among those who help me; Therefore I will 9look with satisfaction on those who hate me.8It is 10better to take refuge in the Lord Than to trust in people.9It is 11better to take refuge in the Lord Than to trust in noblemen.

10All nations 12surrounded me; In the name of the Lord I will certainly 13fend them off.11They 14surrounded me, yes, they surrounded me; In the name of the Lord I will certainly fend them off.12They surrounded me 15like bees; They were extinguished like a 16fire of thorn bushes; In the name of the Lord I will certainly fend them off.13You 17pushed me violently so that I 18was falling, But the Lord 19helped me.14 20 21The Lord is my strength and song, And He has become 22my salvation.
