Psalms 52:1-9

1 1 2Why do you 3boast in evil, you mighty man? The 4faithfulness of God endures all day long.2Your tongue devises 5destruction, Like a 6sharp razor, 7you worker of deceit.3You 8love evil more than good, 9Lies more than speaking what is right. Selah4You love all words that devour, You 10deceitful tongue.

5 11But God will break you down forever; He will snatch you up and 12tear you away from your tent, And 13uproot you from the 14land of the living. Selah6The righteous will 15see and fear, And they will 16laugh at him, saying,7“Behold, the man who would not make God his refuge, But 17trusted in the abundance of his riches And 18was strong in 19his evil desire.”

8But as for me, I am like a 20green olive tree in the house of God; I 21trust in the faithfulness of God forever and ever.9I will 22praise You forever, because You have done it, And I will wait on Your name, 23for it is good, in the presence of Your godly ones.
