Psalms 49:10-15

10For he sees that even 1wise people die; The 2foolish and the stupid alike perish And 3leave their wealth to others.11Their 45inner thought is that their houses 6are forever And their dwelling places to all generations; They have 7named their lands after their own names.12But 8man in his splendor will not endure; He is like the animals that 9perish.

13This is the 10way of those who are foolish, And of those after them who 11approve their words. Selah14Like sheep they sink down 12to 13Sheol; Death will be their shepherd; And the 14upright will rule over them in the morning, And their form shall be for 15Sheol 16to consume 17So that they have no lofty home.15But God will 18redeem my soul from the 19power of 20Sheol, For 21He will receive me. Selah
