Darby Bible

1And it cameG1096 to passG1096 afterwards that he went through [the country] cityG4172 by cityG4172, and villageG2968 by villageG2968, preachingG2784 and announcing the glad tidings of the kingdomG932 of 1GodG2316; and the twelveG1427 [were] with him, 2and certainG5100 womenG1135 who had beenG1510 healedG2323 of wickedG4190 spiritsG4151 and infirmitiesG769, MaryG3137 who wasG1510 calledG2564 MagdaleneG3094, from whom sevenG2033 demonsG1140 had goneG1831 out, 3and JoannaG2489, wifeG1135 of Chuza, Herod's steward, and Susanna, and manyG4183 othersG2087, who ministeredG1247 to him of their substance. 4And a greatG4183 crowdG3793 coming together, and those who were coming to him out of each cityG4172, he spokeG3004 by parableG3850: 5The sower wentG1831 out to sowG4687 his seedG4703; and as he sowedG4687, some fellG4098 along the wayG3598, and it was trodden under foot, and the birdsG4071 of the heavenG3772 devouredG2719 it up; 6and otherG2087 fell upon the rockG4073, and having sprung up, it was dried up because it had not moisture; 7and otherG2087 fellG4098 in the midstG3319 of the thornsG173, and the thornsG173 having sprung up with [it] choked it; 8and otherG2087 fellG4098 into the goodG18 groundG1093, and having sprung up bore fruitG2590 a hundredfold. As he saidG3004 these thingsG3778 he cried, He that has earsG3775 to hearG191, let him hearG191. 9And his disciplesG3101 askedG1905 him [saying], What may this parableG3850 beG1510? 10And he saidG3004, To you it is givenG1325 to knowG1097 the mysteriesG3466 of the kingdomG932 of 2GodG2316, but to the restG3062 in parablesG3850, in orderG2443 that seeingG991 they may not seeG991, and hearingG191 they may not understandG4920. 11But the parableG3850 isG1510 this: The seedG4703 isG1510 the wordG3056 of 3GodG2316. 12But those by the wayside areG1510 those who hearG191; then comesG2064 the devilG1228 and takesG142 awayG142 the wordG3056 from their heartG2588 that they may not believeG4100 and beG1510 savedG4982. 13But those upon the rockG4073, those who whenG3752 they hearG191 receiveG1209 the wordG3056 with joyG5479; and these have no rootG4491, who believeG4100 for a timeG2540, and in timeG2540 of trialG3986 fall awayG868. 14But that that fellG4098 where the thornsG173 wereG1510, these areG1510 they who having heardG191 goG4198 awayG4198 and areG1510 chokedG4846 under caresG3308 and richesG4149 and pleasures of lifeG979, and bring no fruit to perfection. 15But that in the goodG18 groundG1093, these areG1510 they who in an honest and goodG18 heartG2588, having heardG191 the wordG3056 keepG2722 it, and bring forth fruitG2592 with patience. 16And no oneG3762 having lighted a lampG3088 coversG2572 it with a vesselG4632 or putsG5087 it under a couch, but sets it on a lamp-stand, that they who enterG1531 in may seeG991 the lightG5457. 17For there isG1510 nothing hid which shall not becomeG1096 manifest, nor secretG2927 which shall not beG1510 knownG1097 and comeG2064 to lightG5318. 18TakeG142 heedG991 thereforeG3767 howG4459 ye hearG191; for whosoever has, to him shall be givenG1325, and whosoever has not, evenG2532 what he seemsG1380 to have shall be takenG142 from him. 19And his motherG3384 and his brethren cameG3854 to him, and could not get to him because of the crowdG3793. 20And it was toldG518 him [saying], Thy motherG3384 and thy brethren standG2476 without, wishingG2309 to seeG3708 thee. 21But he answeringG611 saidG3004 to them, My motherG3384 and my brethren areG1510 those who hearG191 the wordG3056 of 4GodG2316 and do [it]. 22And it cameG1096 to passG1330 on oneG1520 of the daysG2250, that he entered into a shipG4143, himself and his disciplesG3101; and he saidG3004 to them, Let us passG1330 over to the otherG4008 sideG4008 of the lakeG3041; and they setG321 off from shore. 23And as they sailedG4126, he fell asleep; and a sudden squall of windG417 cameG2597 downG2597 on the lakeG3041, and they were filled [with water], and were in dangerG2793; 24and comingG4334 to [him] they woke him up, sayingG3004, MasterG1988, masterG1988, we perishG622. But he, rising up, rebukedG2008 the windG417 and the raging of the waterG5204; and they ceasedG3973, and there was a calmG1055. 25And he saidG3004 to them, WhereG4226 isG1510 your faithG4102? And, beingG1510 afraidG5399, they wereG1510 astonishedG2296, sayingG3004 to oneG240 another, Who then isG1510 this, that he commandsG2004 evenG2532 the windsG417 and the waterG5204, and they obeyG5219 him? 26And they arrived in the countryG5561 of the Gadarenes, which isG1510 over against GalileeG1056. 27And as he got out [of the ship] on the landG1093, a certainG5100 manG435 out of the cityG4172 met him, who had demonsG1140 a long timeG5550, and putG1746 on no clothesG2440, and did not abideG3306 in a houseG3614, but in the tombsG3418. 28But seeingG3708 JesusG2424, he cried out, and fell downG4363 before him, and with a loudG3173 voiceG5456 saidG3004, What have I to do with thee, JesusG2424 SonG5207 of the MostG5310 HighG5310 5GodG2316? I beseech thee tormentG928 me not. 29For he had commandedG3853 the uncleanG169 spiritG4151 to goG1831 out from the manG444. For very often it had seized him; and he had been bound, keptG5442 with chainsG254 and fetters; and breaking the bonds he was driven by the demonG1140 into the deserts. 30And JesusG2424 askedG1905 him sayingG3004, What isG1510 thy nameG3686? And he saidG3004, LegionG3003: for manyG4183 demonsG1140 had enteredG1525 into him. 31And they besought him that he would not commandG2004 them to goG565 awayG565 into the bottomless pit. 32And there wasG1510 there a herdG34 of manyG2425 swine feedingG1006 on the mountainG3735, and they besought him that he would suffer them to enterG1525 into those; and he suffered them. 33And the demonsG1140, goingG1831 out from the manG444, enteredG1525 into the swine, and the herdG34 rushedG3729 down the precipice into the lakeG3041, and were choked. 34But they that fed [them], seeingG3708 what had happenedG1096, fledG5343, and toldG518 [it] to the cityG4172 and to the countryG68. 35And they wentG1831 out to seeG3708 what had happenedG1096, and cameG2064 to JesusG2424, and foundG2147 the manG444 from whom the demonsG1140 had goneG1831 out, sittingG2521, clothed and sensible, at the feetG4228 of JesusG2424. And they were afraidG5399. 36And they alsoG1161 who had seenG3708 it toldG518 them howG4459 the possessed man had been healed. 37And all the multitudeG4128 of the surroundingG4066 country of the Gadarenes askedG2065 him to departG565 from them, for they were possessed with greatG3173 fearG5401; and he, entering into the shipG4143, returnedG5290. 38But the manG435 out of whom the demonsG1140 had goneG1831 besought him that he might beG1510 with him. But he sentG630 him awayG630, sayingG3004, 39ReturnG5290 to thine houseG3624 and relate howG3745 great things 6GodG2316 has done for thee. And he wentG565 awayG565 through the wholeG3650 cityG4172, publishing howG3745 great things JesusG2424 had done for him. 40And it cameG1096 to passG1096 when JesusG2424 returnedG5290, the crowdG3793 received him gladly, for they wereG1510 all expectingG4328 him. 41And beholdG2400, a manG435 cameG2064, whose nameG3686 was JairusG2383, and he was [a] rulerG758 of the synagogueG4864, and fallingG4098 at the feetG4228 of JesusG2424 besought him to comeG2064 to his houseG3624, 42because he had an onlyG3439 daughterG2364, about twelveG1427 yearsG2094 old, and she wasG1510 dyingG599. And as he wentG5217 the crowdsG3793 thronged him. 43And a womanG1135 who had a flux of bloodG129 since twelveG1427 yearsG2094, who, having spent all her living on physiciansG2395, could not beG1510 cured by any oneG3762, 44comingG4334 up behind, touchedG681 the hem of his garmentG2440, and immediatelyG3916 her flux of bloodG129 stopped. 45And JesusG2424 saidG3004, Who has touchedG681 me? But all denyingG720, PeterG4074 and those with him saidG3004, MasterG1988, the crowdsG3793 close thee in and press upon thee, and sayest thou, Who has touchedG681 me? 46And JesusG2424 saidG3004, Some oneG5100 has touchedG681 me, for I have knownG1097 that powerG1411 has goneG1831 out from me. 47And the womanG1135, seeingG3708 that she was not hid, cameG2064 trembling, and falling downG4363 before him declaredG518 before all the peopleG2992 for what causeG156 she had touchedG681 him, and howG5613 she was immediatelyG3916 healedG2390. 48And he saidG3004 to her, [Be of good courage,] daughterG2364; thy faithG4102 has healed thee; goG4198 in peaceG1515. 49While he was yetG2089 speakingG2980, comesG2064 some oneG5100 from the ruler of the synagogueG752, sayingG3004 to him, Thy daughterG2364 is dead; do not troubleG4660 the teacherG1320. 50But JesusG2424, hearingG191 it, answeredG611 him saying, FearG5399 not: onlyG3440 believeG4100, and she shall be made well. 51And when he cameG2064 to the houseG3614 he suffered no oneG5100 to goG1525 in but PeterG4074 and JohnG2491 and JamesG2385 and the fatherG3962 of the childG3816 and the motherG3384. 52And all were weepingG2799 and lamenting her. But he saidG3004, Do not weepG2799, for she has not diedG599, but sleeps. 53And they derided him, knowing that she had diedG599. 54But he, having turned them all out and takingG2902 holdG2902 of her handG5495, cried sayingG3004, ChildG3816, ariseG1453. 55And her spiritG4151 returnedG1994, and immediatelyG3916 she roseG450 up; and he commandedG1299 [something] to eatG2068 to be givenG1325 to her. 56And her parentsG1118 were amazed; but he enjoined them to tellG3004 no oneG3367 what had happenedG1096.
