Micah Chapter 1
Darby Bible
1The wordH1697 of Jehovah that came to MicahH4318 the Morasthite in the daysH3117 of JothamH3147, AhazH271, [and] HezekiahH2396, kingsH4428 of JudahH3063, which he sawH2372 concerning SamariaH8111 and JerusalemH3389. 2HearH8085, ye peoplesH5971, all of you; hearken, O earthH776, and all that is therein: and let the LordH136 Jehovah beH1961 witnessH5707 against you, the LordH136 from his holyH6944 templeH1964! 3For behold, Jehovah cometh forthH3318 out of his placeH4725, and will comeH3318 down, and treadH1869 upon the highH1116 placesH1116 of the earthH776. 4And the mountainsH2022 shall be meltedH4549 under him, and the valleysH6010 shall be cleft, as waxH1749 before the fireH784, as watersH4325 pouredH5064 down a steep placeH8478. 5For the transgressionH6588 of JacobH3290 is all this, and for the sinsH2403 of the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478. Whence is the transgressionH6588 of JacobH3290? is it not [from] SamariaH8111? And whence are the highH1116 placesH1116 of JudahH3063? are they not [from] JerusalemH3389? 6Therefore will I makeH7760 SamariaH8111 as a heapH5856 of the fieldH7704, as plantings of a vineyardH3754; and I will pourH5064 down the stonesH68 thereof into the valleyH1516, and I will lay bare the foundationsH3247 thereof. 7And all her graven images shall be beaten to pieces, and all her harlot-gifts shall be burnedH8313 with fireH784, and all her idolsH6091 will I makeH7760 a desolationH8077; for of the hireH868 of a harlot hath she gatheredH6908 [them], and to a harlot's hireH868 shall they returnH7725. 8For this will I lamentH5594, and I will howl; I will go stripped and nakedH6174: I will makeH6213 a wailingH4553 like the jackalsH8577, and mourningH60 like the ostrichesH3284. 9For her woundsH4347 are incurableH605; for it is comeH935 even unto JudahH3063, it reacheth unto the gateH8179 of my peopleH5971, even to JerusalemH3389. 10TellH5046 it not in GathH1661, weepH1058 not at all; at Beth-le-aphrah rollH6428 thyself in the dustH6083. 11PassH5674 awayH3947, inhabitress of Shaphir, in nakedness [and] shameH1322. The inhabitress of Zaanan is not comeH3318 forthH3318 for the lamentation of Beth-ezel: he will takeH3947 from you its shelter. 12For the inhabitress of Maroth waited anxiously for goodH2896; but evilH7451 hath comeH3381 down from Jehovah unto the gateH8179 of JerusalemH3389. 13Bind the chariotH4818 to the swift steed, O inhabitress of LachishH3923: she was the beginning of sinH2403 to the daughterH1323 of ZionH6726; for in thee were foundH4672 the transgressionsH6588 of IsraelH3478. 14ThereforeH3651 shalt thou giveH5414 parting-gifts to Moresheth-Gath: the housesH1004 of Achzib shall be a lie to the kingsH4428 of IsraelH3478. 15I will yetH5750 bringH935 unto thee an heir, O inhabitress of MareshahH4762; the gloryH3519 of IsraelH3478 shall comeH935 even unto AdullamH5725. 16MakeH7139 thee bald, and poll thee for the children of thy delights; enlargeH7337 thy baldnessH7144 as the eagleH5404, for they are gone into captivity from thee.
