Malachi 1

1The burdenH4853 of the wordH1697 of Jehovah to IsraelH3478 by Malachi. 2I have lovedH157 you, saith Jehovah; but ye sayH559, Wherein hast thou lovedH157 us? Was not EsauH6215 Jacob's brotherH251? saith Jehovah, and I lovedH157 JacobH3290, 3and I hatedH8130 EsauH6215; and madeH7760 his mountainsH2022 a desolationH8077, and [gave] his inheritanceH5159 to the jackals of the wildernessH4057. 4If EdomH123 sayH559, We are brokenH2040 downH2040, but we will buildH1129 again the ruined placesH2723, — thusH3541 saith Jehovah of hostsH6635: They shall buildH1129, but I will throw down; and [men] shall callH7121 them the territoryH1366 of wickednessH7564, and the peopleH5971 against whom Jehovah hath indignation for everH5769. 5And your eyesH5869 shall seeH7200 [it], and ye shall sayH559, Jehovah is magnifiedH1431 beyond the borderH1366 of IsraelH3478. 6A sonH1121 honoureth [his] fatherH1, and a servantH5650 his masterH113: if then I be a fatherH1, whereH346 is mine honour? and if I be a masterH113, whereH346 is my fearH4172? saith Jehovah of hostsH6635 unto you, priestsH3548, that despiseH959 my nameH8034. But ye sayH559, Wherein have we despisedH959 thy nameH8034? 7Ye offer polluted breadH3899 upon mine altarH4196; and ye sayH559, Wherein have we polluted thee? In that ye sayH559, The tableH7979 of Jehovah is contemptible. 8And if ye offer the blindH5787 for sacrificeH2076, is it not evilH7451? And if ye offer the lameH6455 and sickH2470, is it not evilH7451? PresentH7126 it now unto thy governorH6346: will he be pleased with thee? or will he acceptH7521 thy person? saith Jehovah of hostsH6635. 9And nowH6258, I pray you, beseech 1GodH410 that he will beH1961 gracious unto us. This hath beenH1961 of your handH3027: will he accept any of your persons? saith Jehovah of hostsH6635. 10Who is there among you that would even shutH5462 the doorsH1817? and ye would not kindle [fire] on mine altarH4196 for nothing. I have no delightH2656 in you, saith Jehovah of hostsH6635, neither will I acceptH7521 an oblation at your handH3027. 11For from the rising of the sunH8121 even unto its setting my nameH8034 shall be greatH1419 among the nationsH1471; and in every placeH4725 incenseH6999 shall be offered unto my nameH8034, and a pureH2889 oblation: for my nameH8034 shall be greatH1419 among the nationsH1471, saith Jehovah of hostsH6635. 12But ye profaneH2490 it, in that ye sayH559, The tableH7979 of the LordH136 is polluted; and the fruit thereof, his foodH400, is contemptible. 13And ye sayH559, Behold, what a weariness! And ye have puffed at it, saith Jehovah of hostsH6635, and ye bringH935 [that which was] torn, and the lameH6455, and the sickH2470; thus ye bringH935 the oblation: should I acceptH7521 this of your handH3027? saith Jehovah. 14Yea, cursedH779 be the deceiver, who hath in his flockH5739 a maleH2145, and voweth and sacrificeth unto the Lord a corruptH7843 thing; for I am a greatH1419 KingH4428, saith Jehovah of hostsH6635, and my nameH8034 is terrible among the nationsH1471.
