Luke 22
Darby Bible
1NowG1161 the feastG1859 of unleavenedG106 bread, which [is] called the passoverG3957, drew nigh, 2and the chiefG749 priestsG749 and the scribesG1122 soughtG2212 howG4459 they might kill him; for they fearedG5399 the peopleG2992. 3And SatanG4567 enteredG1525 into JudasG2455, who wasG1510 surnamed Iscariote, beingG1510 of the numberG706 of the twelveG1427. 4And he wentG565 awayG565 and spoke with the chiefG749 priestsG749 and captains as to howG4459 he should deliverG3860 him up to them. 5And they were rejoicedG5463, and agreed to giveG1325 him moneyG694. 6And he came to an agreement to do it, and soughtG2212 an opportunityG2120 to deliverG3860 him up to them away from the crowdG3793. 7And the dayG2250 of unleavenedG106 bread cameG2064, in which the passoverG3957 was to be killedG2380. 8And he sentG649 PeterG4074 and JohnG2491, sayingG3004, GoG4198 and prepareG2090 the passoverG3957 for us, that we may eatG2068 [it]. 9But they saidG3004 to him, WhereG4226 wilt thou that we prepareG2090 [it]? 10And he saidG3004 to them, BeholdG2400, as ye enterG1525 into the cityG4172 a manG444 will meet you, carryingG941 an earthen pitcherG2765 of waterG5204; followG190 him into the houseG3614 where he goes in; 11and ye shall sayG3004 to the master of the houseG3614, The TeacherG1320 saysG3004 to thee, WhereG3699 isG1510 the guest-chamber whereG3699 I may eatG2068 the passoverG3957 with my disciplesG3101? 12And he will shew you a largeG3173 upper room furnishedG4766: there makeG2090 readyG2090. 13And having goneG565 they foundG2147 it as he had saidG3004 to them; and they preparedG2090 the passoverG3957. 14And whenG3753 the hourG5610 was comeG1096, he placed himself at table, and the [twelve] apostlesG652 with him. 15And he saidG3004 to them, With desireG1939 I have desiredG1937 to eatG2068 this passoverG3957 with you before I sufferG3958. 16For I sayG3004 unto you, that I will not eatG2068 any more at all of it until it be fulfilled in the kingdomG932 of 1GodG2316. 17And having receivedG2983 a cupG4221, when he had givenG2168 thanksG2168 he saidG3004, TakeG2983 this and divideG1266 it among yourselves. 18For I sayG3004 unto you, that I will not drinkG4095 at all of the fruit of the vineG288 until the kingdomG932 of 2GodG2316 comeG2064. 19And having takenG2983 a loafG740, when he had givenG1325 thanksG2168, he brokeG2806 [it], and gaveG1325 [it] to them, sayingG3004, This isG1510 my bodyG4983 which isG1510 givenG1325 for you: this do in remembranceG364 of me. 20In like manner alsoG2532 the cupG4221, after having supped, sayingG3004, This cupG4221 [is] the newG2537 covenantG1242 in my bloodG129, which is poured out for you. 21Moreover, beholdG2400, the handG5495 of him that delivers me up [is] with me on the tableG5132; 22and the SonG5207 of manG444 indeedG3303 goesG4198 as it is determined, but woeG3759 unto that manG444 by whom he is deliveredG3860 up. 23And they beganG757 to question together among themselves who then it could beG1510 of them who wasG1510 about to do this. 24And there wasG1510 alsoG2532 a strife among them which of them should beG1510 held to beG1510 [the] greatestG3173. 25And he saidG3004 to them, The kingsG935 of the nationsG1484 rule over them, and they that exercise authorityG1850 over them are calledG2564 benefactors. 26But ye [shall] not [be] thusG3779; but let the greaterG3173 among you be as the younger, and the leader as he that servesG1247. 27For which [isG1510] greaterG3173, he that isG1510 at table or he that servesG1247? [IsG1510] not he that isG1510 at table? But I amG1510 in the midstG3319 of you as the oneG3588 that servesG1247. 28But ye areG1510 they who have persevered with me in my temptations. 29And I appoint unto you, as my FatherG3962 has appointed unto me, a kingdomG932, 30that ye may eatG2068 and drinkG4095 at my tableG5132 in my kingdomG932, and sitG2521 on thronesG2362 judgingG2919 the twelveG1427 tribesG5443 of IsraelG2474. 31And the Lord said, SimonG4613, SimonG4613, beholdG2400, SatanG4567 has demanded to have you, to sift [you] as wheatG4621; 32but I have besought for thee that thy faithG4102 failG1587 not; and thou, when onceG4218 thou hast been restored, confirm thy brethren. 33And he saidG3004 to him, LordG2962, with thee I amG1510 readyG2092 to goG4198 both to prisonG5438 and to deathG2288. 34And he saidG3004, I tellG3004 thee, PeterG4074, [the] cock shall not crowG5455 to-day before that thou shalt thrice denyG533 that thou knowest me. 35And he saidG3004 to them, WhenG3753 I sentG649 you without purse and scrip and sandalsG5266, did ye lackG5302 anythingG5100? And they saidG3004, Nothing. 36He saidG3004 therefore to them, But nowG1161 he that has a purse let him takeG142 [it], in like manner alsoG2532 a scrip, and he that has none let him sellG4453 his garmentG2440 and buyG59 a swordG3162; 37for I sayG3004 unto you, that this that is writtenG1125 must yet be accomplishedG5055 in me, And he was reckonedG3049 with [the] lawlessG459: for alsoG2532 the thingsG3778 concerningG4012 me have an endG5056. 38And they saidG3004, LordG2962, beholdG2400 hereG5602 areG1510 twoG1417 swordsG3162. And he saidG3004 to them, It isG1510 enough. 39And goingG4198 forthG1831 he wentG1831 accordingG2596 to his customG1485 to the mountG3735 of Olives, and the disciplesG3101 alsoG2532 followedG190 him. 40And when he was at the placeG5117 he saidG3004 to them, PrayG4336 that ye enterG1525 not into temptationG3986. 41And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's throw, and having knelt downG5087 he prayedG4336, 42sayingG3004, FatherG3962, if thou wilt remove this cupG4221 from me: — but then, not my will, but thine be done. 43And an angelG32 appeared to him from heavenG3772 strengthening him. 44And being in conflict he prayedG4336 more intently. And his sweat becameG1096 as great drops of bloodG129, falling downG2597 upon the earthG1093. 45And risingG450 up from his prayerG4335, comingG2064 to the disciplesG3101, he foundG2147 them sleepingG2837 from griefG3077. 46And he saidG3004 to them, WhyG5101 sleepG2518 ye? riseG450 up and prayG4336 that ye enterG1525 not into temptationG3986. 47As he was yet speakingG2980, beholdG2400, a crowdG3793, and he that was called JudasG2455, oneG1520 of the twelveG1427, wentG4281 on before them, and drew near to JesusG2424 to kissG5368 him. 48And JesusG2424 saidG3004 to him, JudasG2455, deliverest thou up the SonG5207 of manG444 with a kissG5370? 49And they who wereG1510 around him, seeingG3708 what wasG1510 going to follow, saidG3004 [to him], LordG2962, shall we smite with [the] swordG3162? 50And a certainG5100 oneG1520 from among them smote the bondman of the highG749 priestG749 and took off his rightG1188 earG3775. 51And JesusG2424 answeringG611 saidG3004, Suffer thus farG2193; and having touchedG681 his earG5621, he healedG2390 him. 52And JesusG2424 saidG3004 to the chiefG749 priestsG749 and captains of the temple and eldersG4245, who were comeG1831 against him, Have ye comeG1831 out as against a robberG3027 with swordsG3162 and sticks? 53When I wasG1510 dayG2250 by dayG2250 with you in the temple ye did not stretchG1614 out your handsG5495 against me; but this isG1510 your hourG5610 and the powerG1849 of darknessG4655. 54And having laid hold on him, they ledG71 him [awayG71], and they ledG71 [him] into the houseG3614 of the highG749 priestG749. And PeterG4074 followedG190 afar off. 55And they having lit a fireG4442 in the midstG3319 of the courtG833 and satG2521 downG2521 together, PeterG4074 satG2521 among them. 56And a certainG5100 maid, having seenG3708 him sittingG2521 by the lightG5457, and having fixed her eyes upon him, saidG3004, And this [manG3778] wasG1510 with him. 57But he deniedG720 [him], sayingG3004, WomanG1135, I do not know him. 58And after a short time another seeingG3708 him saidG5346, And thou art of them. But PeterG4074 saidG5346, ManG444, I amG1510 not. 59And after the lapse of about oneG1520 hourG5610 another stoutly maintained it, sayingG3004, In truthG225 this [manG3778] alsoG2532 wasG1510 with him, for alsoG2532 he isG1510 a Galilaean. 60And PeterG4074 saidG3004, ManG444, I know not what thou sayest. And immediatelyG3916, while he was yet speakingG2980, [the] cock crew. 61And the LordG2962, turningG4762 round, lookedG1689 at PeterG4074; and PeterG4074 remembered the wordG3056 of the LordG2962, howG5613 he saidG3004 to him, Before [the] cock crowG5455 thou shalt denyG533 me thrice. 62And Peter, goingG1831 forthG1831 without, weptG2799 bitterlyG4090. 63And the menG435 who held him mockedG1702 him, beatingG1194 [him]; 64and covering him up, askedG1905 him sayingG3004, ProphesyG4395, who isG1510 it that struck thee? 65And they saidG3004 manyG4183 otherG2087 injurious thingsG4183 to him. 66And whenG5613 it wasG1510 dayG2250, the elderhood of the peopleG2992, both [the] chiefG749 priestsG749 and scribesG1122, wereG1510 gatheredG4863 togetherG4863, and ledG520 him into their councilG4892, sayingG3004, 67If thou art the ChristG5547, tellG3004 us. And he saidG3004 to them, If I tellG3004 you, ye will not at all believeG4100; 68and if I should askG2065 [you], ye would not answerG611 me at all, nor let me go; 69but henceforth shall the SonG5207 of manG444 beG1510 sittingG2521 on the rightG1188 handG1188 of the powerG1411 of 3GodG2316. 70And they all saidG3004, Thou thenG3767 art the SonG5207 of 4GodG2316? And he saidG3004 to them, Ye sayG3004 that I amG1510. 71And they saidG3004, What needG5532 have we any moreG2089 of witnessG3141, for we have heardG191 ourselves out of his mouthG4750?
