2 Chronicles Chapter 1
Darby Bible
1And SolomonH8010 the sonH1121 of DavidH1732 was strengthenedH2388 in his kingdomH4438, and Jehovah his 1GodH430 was with him and magnifiedH1431 him exceedingly. 2And SolomonH8010 spoke to all IsraelH3478, to the captains of thousandsH505 and of hundredsH3967, and to the judgesH8199, and to all the princesH8269 of all IsraelH3478, the chiefH7218 fathersH1; 3and SolomonH8010, and all the congregation with him, went to the highH1116 placeH1116 at GibeonH1391; for there wasH1961 2God's tentH168 of meetingH4150 which MosesH4872 the servantH5650 of Jehovah had madeH6213 in the wildernessH4057. 4But the arkH727 of 3GodH430 had DavidH1732 broughtH5927 up from Kirjath-jearim to the [place] that DavidH1732 had preparedH3559 for it; for he had spreadH5186 a tentH168 for it at JerusalemH3389. 5And the brazen altarH4196 that Bezaleel the sonH1121 of UriH221, the sonH1121 of HurH2354, had madeH6213, was there before the tabernacleH4908 of Jehovah; and SolomonH8010 and the congregation soughtH1875 unto it. 6And SolomonH8010 offeredH5927 there upon the brazen altarH4196 before Jehovah which was at the tentH168 of meetingH4150; and he offeredH5927 up a thousandH505 burnt-offerings upon it. 7In that nightH3915 4GodH430 appearedH7200 to SolomonH8010, and saidH559 to him, AskH7592 what I shall giveH5414 thee. 8And SolomonH8010 saidH559 to 5GodH430, Thou hast shewn unto DavidH1732 my fatherH1 greatH1419 loving-kindness, and hast madeH6213 me kingH4427 in his stead. 9NowH6258, Jehovah Elohim, let thy wordH1697 unto DavidH1732 my fatherH1 be firmH539; for thou hast made me kingH4427 over a peopleH5971 numerousH7227 as the dustH6083 of the earthH776. 10GiveH5414 me nowH6258 wisdomH2451 and knowledgeH4093, that I may goH3318 out and comeH935 in before this peopleH5971; for who can judgeH8199 this thy greatH1419 peopleH5971? 11And 6GodH430 saidH559 to SolomonH8010, Because this wasH1961 in thy heartH3824, and thou hast not askedH7592 richesH6239, wealthH6239, or honour, nor the lifeH5315 of them that hateH8130 thee, neither yet hast askedH7592 long lifeH5315; but hast askedH7592 for thyself wisdomH2451 and knowledgeH4093, that thou mayest judgeH8199 my peopleH5971, over whom I have made thee kingH4427: 12wisdomH2451 and knowledgeH4093 are granted unto thee; and I will giveH5414 thee richesH6239 and wealthH6239 and honour, such as none of the kingsH4428 have had that have beenH1961 before thee, neither shall any after thee have the like. 13Then SolomonH8010 cameH935 back [from] the highH1116 placeH1116 at GibeonH1391 to JerusalemH3389, from before the tentH168 of meetingH4150, and reignedH4427 over IsraelH3478. 14And SolomonH8010 gatheredH622 chariotsH7393 and horsemenH6571; and he had a thousandH505 fourH702 hundredH3967 chariotsH7393 and twelve thousandH505 horsemenH6571; and he placed them in the chariot-cities, and with the kingH4428 at JerusalemH3389. 15And the kingH4428 madeH5414 silverH3701 and goldH2091 in JerusalemH3389 as stonesH68, and cedarsH730 madeH5414 he as the sycamores that are in the lowland for abundanceH7230. 16And the exportation of horsesH5483 that SolomonH8010 had was from EgyptH4714: a caravan of the king's merchants fetched a drove [of horsesH5483], at a priceH4242. 17And they fetched up and broughtH3318 forthH3318 out of EgyptH4714 a chariotH4818 for sixH8337 hundredH3967 [shekels] of silverH3701, and a horseH5483 for a hundredH3967 and fiftyH2572; and so they broughtH3318 [them] by their means, for all the kingsH4428 of the HittitesH2850 and for the kingsH4428 of Syria.
