2OtherwiseἐπεὶepeiG1893,would they not have ceasedἐπαύσαντοepausantoG3973to be offeredπροσφερόμεναιprospheromenaiG4374,becauseδιὰdiaG1223the worshipersλατρεύονταςlatreuontasG3000,having onceἅπαξhapaxG530been cleansedκεκαθαρισμένους.kekatharismenousG2511,would noμηδεμίανmēdemianG3367longerἔτιetiG2089haveG2192hadG2192consciousnessσυνείδησινsuneidēsinG4893of sinsἁμαρτιῶνhamartiōnG266?

3But inthoseαὐταῖςautaisG846sacrificesthere is a reminderἀνάμνησιςanamnēsisG364of sinsἁμαρτιῶνhamartiōnG266everyκατ᾽kat᾽G2596yearἐνιαυτόν·eniautonG1763.

4For it isimpossibleἀδύνατονadunatonG102for thebloodαἷμαhaimaG129of bullsταύρωνtaurōnG5022and goatsτράγωνtragōnG5131to takeἀφαιρεῖνaphaireinG851awayG851sinsἁμαρτίας.¶hamartiasG266.

5ThereforeΔιὸDioG1352,when He comesεἰσερχόμενοςeiserchomenosG1525into the worldκόσμονkosmonG2889,He saysλέγει·legeiG3004, “You have not desiredἠθέλησας,ēthelēsasG2309sacrificeθυσίανthusianG2378and offeringπροσφορὰνprosphoranG4376, ButYou have preparedκατηρτίσωkatērtisōG2675a bodyσῶμαsōmaG4983for Me;

13waitingἐκδεχόμενοςekdechomenosG1551from that timeG3062onwardG3062untilἕωςhe'ōsG2193His enemiesἐχθροὶechthroiG2190are madeτεθῶσινtethōsinG5087a footstoolὑποπόδιονhupopodionG5286for His feetποδῶνpodōnG4228.

14For by oneμιᾷmiaG1520offeringπροσφορᾷprosphoraG4376He hasperfectedτετελείωκενteteleiōkenG5048for allG1336timeδιηνεκὲςdiēnekesG1336thoseG3588who aresanctifiedἁγιαζομένους.hagiazomenousG37.

15Andthe Holyἅγιον·hagionG40SpiritπνεῦμαpneumaG4151alsoκαὶkaiG2532testifiesμαρτυρεῖmartureiG3140to us; for afterμετὰmetaG3326sayingG3004,

18NowδὲdeG1161whereὅπουhopouG3699there is forgivenessἄφεσιςaphesisG859of theseG3778thingsG3778,an offeringπροσφορὰprosphoraG4376for sinἁμαρτίας.¶hamartiasG266is noG3765longerG3765required.

23Let’s holdκατέχωμενkatechōmenG2722firmlyG2722toG2722theconfessionὁμολογίανhomologianG3671of ourhopeἐλπίδοςelpidosG1680withoutG186waveringG186, forHe who promisedἐπαγγειλάμενος,epangeilamenosG1861is faithfulπιστὸςpistosG4103;

24and let’s considerκατανοῶμενkatanoōmenG2657how toencourageπαροξυσμὸνparoxusmonG3948oneἀλλήλουςallēlousG240anotherG240in loveἀγάπηςagapēsG26andgoodκαλῶνkalōnG2570deedsἔργωνergōnG2041,

27but a terrifyingφοβερὰphoberaG5398expectationἐκδοχὴekdochēG1561ofjudgmentκρίσεωςkriseōsG2920andthe furyζῆλοςzēlosG2205of a fireπυρὸςpurosG4442which willμέλλοντοςmellontosG3195consumeἐσθίεινesthieinG2068the adversariesὑπεναντίους.hupenantiousG5227.

31It is aterrifyingG5398thingG5398to fallἐμπεσεῖνempeseinG1706into the handsχεῖραςcheirasG5495of thelivingζῶντος.¶zōntosG2198GodθεοῦtheouG2316.

32But rememberἈναμιμνῄσκεσθεAnamimnēskestheG363the formerG4387daysἡμέρας,hēmerasG2250,whenἐν αἷςen haisG1722 G3739, after beingenlightenedφωτισθέντεςphōtisthentesG5461,you enduredὑπεμείνατεhupemeinateG5278a greatπολλὴνpollēnG4183conflictἄθλησινathlēsinG119of sufferingsπαθημάτων,pathēmatōnG3804,

37For yetἔτιetiG2089in a veryὅσονhosonG3745littleμικρὸνmikronG3398whileὅσον,hosonG3745,He who is comingἐρχόμενοςerchomenosG2064will comeἥξειhēxeiG2240,and will not delayχρονίσει.chroniseiG5549.

38But My righteousδίκαιόςdikaiosG1342oneG1342will liveζήσεται·zēsetaiG2198by faithπίστεωςpisteōsG4102;And ifἐὰνeanG1437he shrinksὑποστείληται,huposteilētaiG5288backG5288,My soulψυχήpsuchēG5590hasG2106noοὐκoukG3756pleasureεὐδοκεῖeudokeiG2106in him.

39Butwe are not among those who shrinkG5289backG5289to destructionἀπώλειανapōleianG684,but of those who have faithπίστεωςpisteōsG4102for the safekeepingπεριποίησινperipoiēsinG4047of the soulψυχῆς.¶psuchēsG5590.
