1NowSolomonשְׁלֹמֹ֥הshe.lo.MohH8010the sonבֶן־ven-H1121of Davidדָּוִ֖ידda.VidH1732establishedH2388himself securelyH2388overעַל־'al-H5921his kingdomמַלְכוּת֑וֹmal.khu.ToH4438,and the Lordוַיהוָ֤הva.Yah.wehH3068his Godאֱלֹהָיו֙'e.lo.HavH430was with him andexaltedוַֽיְגַדְּלֵ֖הוּvay.ga.de.Le.huH1431him greatlyלְמָֽעְלָה׃le.Ma.'e.lahH4605.

2And Solomonשְׁלֹמֹ֣הshe.lo.MohH8010spokeוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to allלְכָל־le.kholH3605Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֡לYis.ra.'ElH3478,to the commandersלְשָׂרֵי֩le.sa.ReiH8269of thousandsהָאֲלָפִ֨יםha.'a.la.FimH505,of hundredsוְהַמֵּא֜וֹתve.ha.me.'otH3967,and to the judgesוְלַשֹּֽׁפְטִ֗יםve.la.sho.fe.TimH8199and to everyוּלְכֹ֛לu.le.KholH3605leaderנָשִׂ֥יאna.Si'H5387in allלְכָל־le.kholH3605Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478,the headsרָאשֵׁ֥יra.SheiH7218of the fathers’הָאָבֽוֹת׃ha.'a.VotH1households.

3Then Solomonשְׁלֹמֹה֙she.lo.MohH8010and allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605the assemblyהַקָּהָ֣לha.ka.HalH6951with him wentוַיֵּלְכ֗וּvai.ye.le.KhuH1980tothe highלַבָּמָ֖הla.ba.MahH1116placeH1116whichאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834was at Gibeonבְּגִבְע֑וֹןbe.giv.'onH1391,becauseכִּי־ki-H3588God’sהָֽאֱלֹהִ֔יםha.'E.lo.HimH430tentאֹ֤הֶל'O.helH168of meetingמוֹעֵד֙mo.'EdH4150was thereשָׁ֣םshamH8033whichאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834Mosesמֹשֶׁ֥הmo.ShehH4872,the servantעֶֽבֶד־'e.ved-H5650of the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068had madeעָשָׂ֛ה'a.SahH6213in the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּֽר׃ba.mid.BarH4057.

4Howeverאֲבָ֗ל'a.ValH61,DavidH1732had broughtH5927upH5927the arkאֲר֤וֹן'a.RonH727of Godהָאֱלֹהִים֙ha.'E.lo.HimH430from Kiriath-jearimH7157tothe place he had preparedבַּֽהֵכִ֥יןba.he.KhinH3559for it, for he had pitchedנָֽטָה־na.tah-H5186a tentאֹ֖הֶל'O.helH168for it in Jerusalemבִּירוּשָׁלִָֽם׃bi.ru.sha.LimH3389.

5Nowthe bronzeהַנְּחֹ֗שֶׁתha.ne.Cho.shetH5178altarוּמִזְבַּ֣חu.miz.BachH4196whichאֲשֶׁ֤ר'a.SherH834Bezalelבְּצַלְאֵל֙be.tzal.'ElH1212,the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Uriאוּרִ֣י'u.RiH221,the sonבֶן־ven-H1121of Hurח֔וּרChurH2354,had madeעָשָׂה֙'a.SahH6213was thereH8033beforeלִפְנֵ֖יlif.NeiH6440the tabernacleמִשְׁכַּ֣ןmish.KanH4908of the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068,and Solomonשְׁלֹמֹ֖הshe.lo.MohH8010and the assemblyוְהַקָּהָֽל׃ve.ha.ka.HalH6951soughtוַיִּדְרְשֵׁ֥הוּvai.yid.re.She.huH1875it out.

6And Solomonשְׁלֹמֹ֨הshe.lo.MohH8010wentH5927upH5927thereשָׁ֜םshamH8033beforeלִפְנֵ֣יlif.NeiH6440the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068to the bronzeהַנְּחֹ֙שֶׁת֙ha.ne.Cho.shetH5178altarמִזְבַּ֤חmiz.BachH4196whichאֲשֶׁ֖ר'a.SherH834wasat the tentלְאֹ֣הֶלle.'O.helH168of meetingמוֹעֵ֑דmo.'EdH4150, andofferedH5927a thousandאָֽלֶף׃'A.lefH505burntעֹל֖וֹתo.LotH5930offeringsH5930on it.

7In that nightבַּלַּ֣יְלָהba.Lay.lahH3915Godאֱלֹהִ֖ים'E.lo.HimH430appearedנִרְאָ֥הnir.'AhH7200to Solomonלִשְׁלֹמֹ֑הlish.lo.MohH8010and saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to him, “Askשְׁאַ֖לshe.'AlH7592whatמָ֥הmahH4100I shall giveאֶתֶּן־'e.ten-H5414you.”

8And Solomonשְׁלֹמֹה֙she.lo.MohH8010saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Godלֵֽאלֹהִ֔יםle.lo.HimH430, “You have dealtעָשִׂ֛יתָ'a.Si.taH6213with my fatherאָבִ֖י'a.ViH1Davidדָּוִ֥ידda.VidH1732with greatגָּד֑וֹלga.DolH1419faithfulnessחֶ֣סֶדChe.sedH2617, andhave madeH4427me kingוְהִמְלַכְתַּ֖נִיve.him.lakh.Ta.niH4427inH8478his placeתַּחְתָּֽיו׃tach.TavH8478.

9Nowעַתָּה֙'a.TahH6258, Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068Godאֱלֹהִ֔ים'E.lo.HimH430, Yourpromiseדְּבָ֣רְךָ֔de.Va.re.khaH1697to my fatherאָבִ֑י'a.ViH1Davidדָּוִ֣ידda.VidH1732is fulfilledיֵֽאָמֵן֙ye.'a.MenH539,for You have madeH4427me kingהִמְלַכְתַּ֔נִיhim.lakh.Ta.niH4427overעַל־'al-H5921a peopleעַ֕ם'amH5971as numerousרַ֖בravH7227as the dustכַּעֲפַ֥רka.'a.FarH6083of the earthהָאָֽרֶץ׃ha.'A.retzH776.

10Nowעַתָּ֗ה'a.TahH6258giveתֶּן־ten-H5414me wisdomחָכְמָ֤הchokh.mahH2451and knowledgeוּמַדָּע֙u.ma.Da'H4093,so that I may goוְאֵֽצְאָ֛הve.'e.tze.'AhH3318outH3318and comeוְאָב֑וֹאָהve.'a.Vo.'ahH935inH935beforeלִפְנֵ֥יlif.NeiH6440thisהַזֶּ֖הha.ZehH2088peopleהָֽעָם־ha.'om-H5971,for whoמִ֣יmiH4310can ruleיִשְׁפֹּ֔טyish.PotH8199thisהַזֶּ֖הha.ZehH2088greatהַגָּדֽוֹל׃ סha.ga.DolH1419peopleעַמְּךָ֥'a.me.KhaH5971of Yours?”

11Then Godאֱלֹהִ֣ים׀'E.lo.HimH430saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶר־vai.Yo.mer-H559to Solomonלִשְׁלֹמֹ֡הlish.lo.MohH8010, “Becauseיַ֣עַןYa.'anH3282 H834thisH2088wasin your heartלְבָבֶ֗ךָle.va.Ve.khaH3824,and you did not askשָׁ֠אַלְתָּSha.'al.taH7592for richesעֹ֣שֶׁר'O.sherH6239,wealthנְכָסִ֤יםne.kha.SimH5233,or honorוְכָבוֹד֙ve.kha.VodH3519,or the lifeנֶ֣פֶשׁNe.feshH5315of those who hateשֹׂנְאֶ֔יךָso.ne.'Ei.khaH8130you, norH3808did you evenוְגַם־ve.gam-H1571askשָׁאָ֑לְתָּsha.'A.le.taH7592for longרַבִּ֖יםra.BimH7227lifeיָמִ֥יםya.MimH3117,but you askedוַתִּֽשְׁאַל־va.tish.'al-H7592for yourself wisdomחָכְמָ֣הchokh.mahH2451and knowledgeוּמַדָּ֔עu.ma.Da'H4093soH834thatH834you may ruleתִּשְׁפּוֹט֙tish.pOtH8199My peopleעַמִּ֔י'a.MiH5971overעָלָֽיו׃'a.LavH5921whomH834I have madeH4427you kingהִמְלַכְתִּ֖יךָhim.lakh.Ti.khaH4427,

12wisdomהַֽחָכְמָ֥הha.cha.khe.MahH2451and knowledgeוְהַמַּדָּ֖עve.ham.ma.Da'H4093have been grantedנָת֣וּןna.TunH5414to you.I will also giveאֶתֶּן־'e.ten-H5414you richesוְעֹ֨שֶׁרve.'O.sherH6239,wealthוּנְכָסִ֤יםu.ne.kha.SimH5233,and honorוְכָבוֹד֙ve.kha.VodH3519,suchאֲשֶׁ֣ר׀'a.SherH834 H3651as noneלֹא־lo'-H3808of the kingsלַמְּלָכִים֙la.me.la.KhimH4428whoאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834were beforeלְפָנֶ֔יךָle.fa.Nei.khaH6440you has possessedH1961,norלֹ֥אlo'H3808will those who willcome afterוְאַחֲרֶ֖יךָve.'a.cha.Rei.khaH310you.”

13So Solomonשְׁלֹמֹ֜הshe.lo.MohH8010wentוַיָּבֹ֨אvai.ya.Vo'H935from the highלַבָּמָ֤הla.ba.MahH1116placeH1116whichאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834was at Gibeonבְּגִבְעוֹן֙be.giv.'OnH1391,from the tentאֹ֣הֶל'O.helH168of meetingמוֹעֵ֑דmo.'EdH4150,to Jerusalemיְר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔םye.Ru.sha.LimH3389,and he reignedוַיִּמְלֹ֖ךְvai.yim.LokhH4427overעַל־'al-H5921Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ פYis.ra.'ElH3478.

16Solomon’sלִשְׁלֹמֹ֖הlish.lo.MohH8010horsesהַסּוּסִ֛יםha.su.SimH5483were importedוּמוֹצָ֧אu.mo.Tza'H4161from Egyptמִמִּצְרָ֑יִםmi.mitz.Ra.yimH4714and from KueH6961;the king’sהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428tradersסֹחֲרֵ֣יso.cha.ReiH5503acquiredיִקְח֖וּyik.ChuH3947them from KueH6961for a priceבִּמְחִֽיר׃bim.ChirH4242.
