1WhenG5613 thereforeG3767 the Lord knewG1097 that the PhariseesG5330 had heardG191 that JesusG2424 makesG4160 and baptises moreG4183 disciplesG3101 than JohnG2491 2(however, JesusG2424 himself did not baptise, but his disciplesG3101), 3he leftG863 Judaea and wentG565 awayG565 againG3825 unto GalileeG1056. 4And he must needs passG1330 through SamariaG4540. 5He comesG2064 thereforeG3767 to a cityG4172 of SamariaG4540 called Sychar, near to the landG5564 which JacobG2384 gaveG1325 to his sonG5207 JosephG2501. 6NowG1161 a fountain of Jacob's wasG1510 there; JesusG2424 thereforeG3767, beingG1510 wearied with the wayG3779 he had come, sat just as he wasG1510 at the fountain. It wasG1510 about the sixthG1623 hourG5610. 7A womanG1135 comesG2064 out of SamariaG4540 to drawG501 waterG5204. And there wasG1510 a certain courtier in CapernaumG2584 whose sonG5207 wasG1510 sickG770. 47He, having heardG191 that JesusG2424 had comeG2240 out of Judaea into GalileeG1056, wentG565 to him and askedG2065 [him] that he would comeG2240 downG2597 and healG2390 his sonG5207, for he was about to dieG599. 48JesusG2424 thereforeG3767 saidG3004 to him, Unless ye seeG3708 signsG4592 and wondersG5059 ye will not believeG4100. 49The courtier saysG3004 to him, SirG2962, comeG2597 down ere my childG3813 dieG599. 50JesusG2424 saysG3004 to him, GoG4198, thy sonG5207 lives. And the manG444 believedG4100 the wordG3056 which JesusG2424 saidG3004 to him, and wentG4198 his way. 51But alreadyG2235, as he was goingG2597 downG2597, his servantsG1401 met him and brought [him] word sayingG3004, Thy childG3816 lives. 52He inquiredG4441 thereforeG3767 from them the hourG5610 at which he got better. And they saidG3004 to him, YesterdayG5504 at the seventhG1442 hourG5610 the feverG4446 leftG863 him. 53The fatherG3962 thereforeG3767 knewG1097 that [it was] in that hourG5610 in which JesusG2424 saidG3004 to him, Thy sonG5207 lives; and he believedG4100, himself and his wholeG3650 houseG3614. 54This secondG1208 signG4592 againG3825 did JesusG2424, being comeG2064 out of Judaea into GalileeG1056.
