John 21
Darby Bible
1After these thingsG3778 JesusG2424 manifestedG5319 himself againG3825 to the disciplesG3101 at the seaG2281 of TiberiasG5085. And he manifestedG5319 [himself] thusG3779. 2There wereG1510 togetherG3674 SimonG4613 PeterG4074, and ThomasG2381 called DidymusG1324, and NathanaelG3482 who wasG1510 of CanaG2580 of GalileeG1056, and the [sons] of ZebedeeG2199, and twoG1417 othersG243 of his disciplesG3101. 3SimonG4613 PeterG4074 saysG3004 to them, I goG5217 to fish. They sayG3004 to him, We alsoG2532 comeG2064 with thee. They wentG1831 forthG1831, and wentG1831 on board, and that nightG3571 took nothing. 4And early morn alreadyG2235 breaking, JesusG2424 stoodG2476 on the shore; the disciplesG3101 howeverG1161 did not know that it wasG1510 JesusG2424. 5JesusG2424 thereforeG3767 saysG3004 to them, ChildrenG3813, have ye anythingG5100 to eat? They answeredG611 him, No. 6And he saidG3004 to them, CastG906 the netG1350 at the rightG1188 side of the shipG4143 and ye will findG2147. They castG906 thereforeG3767, and they could no longer drawG1670 it, from the multitudeG4128 of fishes. 7That discipleG3101 thereforeG3767 whom JesusG2424 lovedG25 saysG3004 to PeterG4074, It isG1510 the LordG2962. SimonG4613 PeterG4074 thereforeG3767, having heardG191 that it wasG1510 the LordG2962, girdedG1241 his overcoat [on him] (for he wasG1510 nakedG1131), and castG906 himself into the seaG2281; 8and the otherG243 disciplesG3101 cameG2064 in the small boatG4142, for they wereG1510 not farG3112 from the landG1093, but somewhere about twoG1250 hundredG1250 cubitsG4083, dragging the netG1350 of fishes. 9WhenG5613 thereforeG3767 they went out on the landG1093, they seeG991 a fireG439 of coals there, and fishG3795 laid on it, and breadG740. 10JesusG2424 saysG3004 to them, BringG5342 of the fishes which ye have nowG3568 taken. 11SimonG4613 PeterG4074 wentG305 up and drewG1670 the netG1350 to the landG1093 fullG3324 of greatG3173 fishes, a hundredG1540 and fifty-threeG4004; and though there wereG1510 so manyG5118, the netG1350 wasG1510 not rent. 12JesusG2424 saysG3004 to them, ComeG1205 [and] dine. But noneG3762 of the disciplesG3101 daredG5111 inquire of him, Who art thou? knowing that it wasG1510 the LordG2962. 13JesusG2424 comesG2064 and takesG2983 the breadG740 and givesG1325 it to them, and the fishG3795 in like manner. 14This is alreadyG2235 the thirdG5154 timeG5154 that JesusG2424 had been manifestedG5319 to the disciplesG3101, being risenG1453 from among [the] deadG3498. 15WhenG3753 thereforeG3767 they had dined, JesusG2424 saysG3004 to SimonG4613 PeterG4074, SimonG4613, [son] of Jonas, lovest thou me moreG4183 than these? He saysG3004 to him, Yea, LordG2962; thou knowest that I am attached to thee. He saysG3004 to him, FeedG1006 my lambsG721. 16He saysG3004 to him againG3825 a secondG1208 timeG1208, SimonG4613, [son] of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saysG3004 to him, Yea, LordG2962; thou knowest that I am attached to thee. He saysG3004 to him, ShepherdG4165 my sheepG4263. 17He saysG3004 to him the thirdG5154 timeG5154, SimonG4613, [son] of Jonas, art thou attached to me? PeterG4074 was grievedG3076 because he saidG3004 to him the thirdG5154 timeG5154, Art thou attached to me? and saidG3004 to him, LordG2962, thou knowest all thingsG3956; thou knowest that I am attached to thee. JesusG2424 saysG3004 to him, FeedG1006 my sheepG4263. 18Verily, verily, I sayG3004 to thee, WhenG3752 thou wast young, thou girdedst thyself, and walkedst whereG3699 thou desiredst; but whenG3752 thou shalt beG1510 old, thou shalt stretchG1614 forth thy handsG5495, and another shall gird thee, and bringG5342 thee whereG3699 thou dost not desireG2309. 19But he saidG3004 this signifyingG4591 by what deathG2288 he should glorifyG1392 1GodG2316. And having saidG3004 this, he saysG3004 to him, FollowG190 me. 20PeterG4074, turningG1994 round, seesG991 the discipleG3101 whom JesusG2424 lovedG25 followingG190, who alsoG2532 leaned at supperG1173 on his breastG4738, and saidG3004, LordG2962, who isG1510 it that delivers thee up? 21PeterG4074, seeingG3708 him, saysG3004 to JesusG2424, LordG2962, and what [of] this [manG3778]? 22JesusG2424 saysG3004 to him, If I will that he abideG3306 until I comeG2064, what [is that] to thee? FollowG190 thou me. 23This wordG3056 thereforeG3767 wentG1831 out among the brethren, That discipleG3101 does not dieG599. And JesusG2424 did not sayG3004 to him, He does not dieG599; but, If I will that he abideG3306 until I comeG2064, what [is that] to thee? 24This isG1510 the discipleG3101 who bears witnessG3140 concerningG4012 these thingsG3778, and who has writtenG1125 these thingsG3778; and we know that his witnessG3140 isG1510 trueG227. 25And there areG1510 alsoG2532 manyG4183 otherG243 thingsG4183 which JesusG2424 did, the which if they wereG1510 writtenG1125 oneG1520 by oneG1520, I supposeG3633 that not evenG2532 the worldG2889 itself would contain the booksG975 writtenG1125.
