The Woman of Samaria

15The womanG1135 saidG3004 to Him, “22SirG2962, 23giveG1325 me thisG3778 waterG5204, soG2443 I will not be thirstyG1372 norG3366 comeG1330 all the way hereG1759 to drawG501.” 16He saidG3004 to her, “GoG5217, callG5455 your husbandG435 and comeG2064 hereG1759.” 17The womanG1135 answeredG611 and saidG3004, “I haveG2192 noG3756 husbandG435.” JesusG2424 saidG3004 to her, “You have correctlyG2573 saidG3004, ‘I haveG2192 noG3756 husbandG435’; 18for you haveG2192 hadG2192 fiveG4002 husbandsG435, and the one whomG3739 you nowG3568 haveG2192 is not your husbandG435; thisG3778 you have saidG3004 trulyG227.” 19The womanG1135 saidG3004 to Him, “24SirG2962, I perceiveG2334 that You are 25a prophetG4396. 2026Our fathersG3962 worshipedG4352 in 27thisG3778 mountainG3735, and you people sayG3004 that 28in JerusalemG2414 is the placeG5117 whereG3699 men oughtG1163 to worshipG4352.” 21JesusG2424 saidG3004 to her, “WomanG1135, believeG4100 Me, 29an hourG5610 is comingG2064 whenG3753 30neitherG3777 in thisG3778 mountainG3735 norG3777 in JerusalemG2414 will you worshipG4352 the FatherG3962. 2231You worshipG4352 whatG3739 you do not knowG3609; we worshipG4352 whatG3739 we knowG3609, for 32salvationG4991 is from the JewsG2453. 23But 33an hourG5610 is comingG2064, and nowG3568 is, whenG3753 the trueG228 worshipersG4353 will worshipG4352 the FatherG3962 34in spiritG4151 and truthG225; for suchG5108 peopleG5108 the FatherG3962 seeksG2212 to be His worshipersG4352. 24GodG2316 is 35spiritG4151, and thoseG3588 who worshipG4352 Him mustG1163 worshipG4352 36in spiritG4151 and truthG225.” 25The womanG1135 saidG3004 to Him, “I knowG3609 that 37MessiahG3323 is comingG2064 (38He who is calledG3004 ChristG5547); whenG3752 that OneG1565 comesG2064, He will declareG312 allG537 thingsG537 to us.” 26JesusG2424 saidG3004 to her, “39I who speakG2980 to you amG1510 He.”

27At thisG3778 pointG1909 His 40disciplesG3101 cameG2064, and they were amazedG2296 that He had been speakingG2980 with a womanG1135, yetG3305 noG3762 oneG3762 saidG3004, “WhatG5101 do You seekG2212?” orG2228, “WhyG5101 do You speakG2980 with her?” 28SoG3767 the womanG1135 leftG863 her waterpotG5201, and wentG565 into the cityG4172 and saidG3004 to the menG444, 29“ComeG1205, seeG3708 a manG444 41whoG3739 toldG3004 me allG3956 the thingsG3956 that I have doneG4160; 42thisG3778 is not 43the ChristG5547, is it?” 30They wentG1831 out of the cityG4172, and were comingG2064 to Him.

31MeanwhileG3342 the disciplesG3101 were urgingG2065 Him, sayingG3004, “44RabbiG4461, eatG2068.” 32But He saidG3004 to them, “I haveG2192 foodG1035 to eatG2068 that you do not knowG3609 aboutG3609.” 33SoG3767 the 45disciplesG3101 were sayingG3004 to oneG240 anotherG240, “NoG3361 oneG5100 broughtG5342 Him anything to eatG2068, did he?” 34JesusG2424 saidG3004 to them, “My foodG1033 is to 46doG4160 the willG2307 of Him who sentG3992 Me and to 47accomplishG5048 His workG2041. 35Do you not sayG3004, ‘There are yetG2089 fourG5072 monthsG5072, and then comesG2064 the harvestG2326’? The Samaritans

39From 53that cityG4172 manyG4183 of the SamaritansG4541 believedG4100 in Him becauseG1223 of the wordG3056 of the womanG1135 who testifiedG3140, “54He toldG3004 me allG3956 the thingsG3956 that I have doneG4160.” 40SoG3767 whenG5613 the SamaritansG4541 cameG2064 to Jesus, they were askingG2065 Him to stayG3306 with them; and He stayedG3306 thereG1563 twoG1417 daysG2250. 41ManyG4183 moreG4183 believedG4100 becauseG1223 of His wordG3056; 42and they were sayingG3004 to the womanG1135, “It is noG3765 longerG3765 becauseG1223 of what you saidG2981 that we believeG4100, for we have heardG191 for ourselvesG846 and knowG3609 that thisG3778 OneG3778 is indeedG230 55the SaviorG4990 of the worldG2889.”

Healing a Nobleman’s Son
