John 10
Darby Bible
1Verily, verily, I sayG3004 to you, He that entersG1525 not in by the doorG2374 to the foldG833 of the sheepG4263, but mounts up elsewhere, he isG1510 a thiefG2812 and a robberG3027; 2but he that entersG1525 in by the doorG2374 isG1510 [the] shepherdG4166 of the sheepG4263. 3To him the porter opensG455; and the sheepG4263 hearG191 his voiceG5456; and he callsG5455 his ownG2398 sheepG4263 by nameG3686, and leads them out. 4WhenG3752 he has putG1544 forth all his ownG2398, he goesG4198 before them, and the sheepG4263 followG190 him, because they know his voiceG5456. 5But they will not followG190 a strangerG245, but will fleeG5343 from him, because they know not the voiceG5456 of strangersG245. 6This allegory spokeG2980 JesusG2424 to them, but they did not knowG1097 what it wasG1510 [of] which he spokeG2980 to them. 7JesusG2424 thereforeG3767 saidG3004 againG3825 to them, Verily, verily, I sayG3004 to you, I amG1510 the doorG2374 of the sheepG4263. 8All whoever cameG2064 before me areG1510 thievesG2812 and robbersG3027; but the sheepG4263 did not hearG191 them. 9I amG1510 the doorG2374: if any oneG5100 enterG1525 in by me, he shall beG1510 savedG4982, and shall goG1831 in and shall goG1831 out and shall findG2147 pastureG3542. 10The thiefG2812 comesG2064 not but that he may stealG2813, and killG2380, and destroyG622: I am comeG2064 that they might have lifeG2222, and might have [it] abundantly. 11I amG1510 the goodG2570 shepherdG4166. The goodG2570 shepherdG4166 laysG5087 downG5087 his lifeG5590 for the sheepG4263: 12but he who serves for wages, and who isG1510 not the shepherdG4166, whose ownG2398 the sheepG4263 areG1510 not, seesG2334 the wolfG3074 comingG2064, and leavesG863 the sheepG4263 and fleesG5343; and the wolfG3074 seizes them and scattersG4650 the sheepG4263. 13Now he who serves for wages flees because he serves for wages, and isG1510 not himself concernedG3199 about the sheepG4263. 14I amG1510 the goodG2570 shepherdG4166; and I knowG1097 those that areG1510 mine, and amG1510 knownG1097 of those that areG1510 mine, 15as the FatherG3962 knowsG1097 me and I knowG1097 the FatherG3962; and I lay downG5087 my lifeG5590 for the sheepG4263. 16And I have otherG243 sheepG4263 which areG1510 not of this foldG833: those alsoG2532 I must bringG71, and they shall hearG191 my voiceG5456; and there shall beG1510 oneG1520 flockG4167, oneG1520 shepherdG4166. 17On this accountG1223 the FatherG3962 lovesG25 me, because I lay downG5087 my lifeG5590 that I may takeG2983 it againG3825. 18No oneG3762 takesG142 it from me, but I lay it downG5087 of myself. I have authorityG1849 to lay it downG5087 and I have authorityG1849 to takeG142 it againG3825. I have receivedG2983 this commandmentG1785 of my FatherG3962. 19There was a divisionG4978 againG3825 among the JewsG2453 on accountG3056 of these wordsG3056; 20but manyG4183 of them saidG3004, He has a demonG1140 and raves; whyG5101 do ye hearG191 him? 21OthersG243 saidG3004, These sayings areG1510 not [those] of oneG3778 that isG1510 possessed by a demonG1140. Can a demonG1140 openG455 blindG5185 people's eyesG3788? 22NowG1161 the feast of the dedication wasG1510 celebrating at JerusalemG2414, and it wasG1510 winterG5494. 23And JesusG2424 walkedG4043 in the temple in the porch of SolomonG4672. 24The JewsG2453 thereforeG3767 surrounded him, and saidG3004 to him, Until when dost thou hold our soulG5590 in suspense? If thou art the ChristG5547, sayG3004 [so] to us openlyG3954. 25JesusG2424 answeredG611 them, I toldG3004 you, and ye do not believeG4100. The worksG2041 which I do in my Father's nameG3686, these bear witnessG3140 concerningG4012 me: 26but ye do not believeG4100, for ye areG1510 not of my sheepG4263, as I told you. 27My sheepG4263 hearG191 my voiceG5456, and I knowG1097 them, and they followG190 me; 28and I giveG1325 them lifeG2222 eternalG166; and they shall never perishG622, and no oneG5100 shall seizeG726 them out of my handG5495. 29My FatherG3962 who has givenG1325 [them] to me isG1510 greaterG3173 than all, and no oneG3762 can seizeG726 out of the handG5495 of my FatherG3962. 30I and the FatherG3962 areG1510 oneG1520. 31The JewsG2453 thereforeG3767 againG3825 took stonesG3037 that they might stoneG3037 him. 32JesusG2424 answeredG611 them, ManyG4183 goodG2570 worksG2041 have I shewn you of my FatherG3962; for which workG2041 of them do ye stoneG3034 me? 33The JewsG2453 answeredG611 him, For a goodG2570 workG2041 we stoneG3034 thee not, but for blasphemyG988, and because thou, beingG1510 a manG444, makest thyself 1GodG2316. 34JesusG2424 answeredG611 them, IsG1510 it not writtenG1125 in your lawG3551, I saidG3004, Ye areG1510 2godsG2316? 35If he called them 3godsG2316 to whom the wordG3056 of 4GodG2316 cameG1096 (and the scriptureG1124 cannot be brokenG3089), 36do ye sayG3004 of him whom the FatherG3962 has sanctifiedG37 and sentG649 into the worldG2889, Thou blasphemest, because I saidG3004, I amG1510 SonG5207 of 5GodG2316? 37If I do not the worksG2041 of my FatherG3962, believeG4100 me not; 38but if I do, evenG2532 if ye believeG4100 not me, believeG4100 the worksG2041, that ye may knowG1097 [and believeG4100] that the FatherG3962 is in me and I in him. 39They soughtG2212 thereforeG3767 againG3825 to take him; and he wentG1831 awayG1831 from out of their handG5495 40and departedG565 againG3825 beyond the JordanG2446 to the placeG5117 whereG3699 JohnG2491 wasG1510 baptising at the firstG4413: and he abode there. 41And manyG4183 cameG2064 to him, and saidG3004, JohnG2491 did no signG4592; but all thingsG3778 which JohnG2491 saidG3004 of this [manG3778] wereG1510 trueG227. 42And manyG4183 believedG4100 on him there.
