Acts 11
Darby Bible
1And the apostlesG652 and the brethren who wereG1510 in Judaea heardG191 that the nationsG1484 alsoG2532 had receivedG1209 the wordG3056 of 1GodG2316; 2and whenG3753 PeterG4074 wentG305 up to JerusalemG2419, they of the circumcisionG4061 contended with him, 3sayingG3004, Thou wentest in to menG435 uncircumcised and hast eaten with them. 4But PeterG4074 beganG757 and set forth [the matter] to them in order, sayingG3004, 5I wasG1510 in the cityG4172 of JoppaG2445 prayingG4336, and in an ecstasy I sawG3708 a visionG3705, a certainG5100 vesselG4632 descendingG2597 like a greatG3173 sheetG3607, let downG2597 by fourG5064 cornersG746 out of heavenG3772, and it cameG2064 evenG2532 to me: 6on which having fixed mine eyes, I considered, and sawG3708 the quadrupeds of the earthG1093, and the wildG2342 beastsG2342, and the creeping thingsG3739, and the fowls of the heavenG3772. 7And I heardG191 alsoG2532 a voiceG5456 sayingG3004 to me, RiseG450 up, PeterG4074, slay and eatG2068. 8And I saidG3004, In no wise, LordG2962, for commonG2839 or uncleanG169 has neverG3763 enteredG1525 into my mouthG4750. 9And a voiceG5456 answeredG611 the secondG1208 timeG1208 out of heavenG3772, What 2GodG2316 has cleansedG2511, do not thou make common. 10And this took placeG1096 thrice, and againG3825 all was drawn up into heavenG3772; 11and lo, immediatelyG1824 threeG5140 menG435 wereG1510 at the houseG3614 in which I wasG1510, sentG649 to me from CaesareaG2542. 12And the SpiritG4151 saidG3004 to me to goG1525 with them, nothingG3367 doubtingG1252. And there went with me these sixG1803 brethren alsoG2532, and we enteredG1525 into the houseG3624 of the manG435, 13and he related to us howG4459 he had seenG3708 the angelG32 in his houseG3624, standingG2476 and sayingG3004 [to him], SendG649 [men] to JoppaG2445 and fetch SimonG4613, who is surnamed PeterG4074, 14who shall speakG2980 words to thee whereby thou shalt be savedG4982, thou and all thy houseG3624. 15And as I beganG757 to speakG2980, the HolyG40 SpiritG4151 fell upon them evenG2532 as upon us alsoG2532 at the beginning. 16And I rememberedG3403 the word of the LordG2962, howG5613 he saidG3004, JohnG2491 baptised with waterG5204, but ye shall be baptised with [the] HolyG40 SpiritG4151. 17If then 3GodG2316 has givenG1325 them the sameG846 giftG1431 as alsoG2532 to us whenG5613 we had believedG4100 on the LordG2962 JesusG2424 ChristG5547, who indeed wasG1510 I to beG1510 ableG1415 to forbidG2967 4GodG2316? 18And when they heardG191 these thingsG3778 they held their peace, and glorifiedG1392 5GodG2316, sayingG3004, Then indeed 6GodG2316 has to the nationsG1484 alsoG2532 grantedG1325 repentanceG3341 to lifeG2222. 19They then who had been scatteredG1289 abroad through the tribulationG2347 that took placeG1096 on the occasion of StephenG4736, passedG1330 through [the country] to PhoeniciaG5403 and CyprusG2954 and AntiochG490, speakingG2980 the wordG3056 to no oneG3367 but to JewsG2453 aloneG3441. 20But there wereG1510 certainG5100 of them, Cyprians and Cyrenians, who entering into AntiochG490 spokeG2980 to the GreeksG1672 alsoG2532, announcing the glad tidings of the LordG2962 JesusG2424. 21And [the] Lord's handG5495 wasG1510 with them, and a greatG4183 numberG706 believedG4100 and turnedG1994 to the LordG2962. 22And the reportG3056 concerningG4012 them reached the earsG3775 of the assemblyG1577 which wasG1510 in JerusalemG2419, and they sent out BarnabasG921 to go through as farG2193 as AntiochG490: 23who, having arrived and seeingG3708 the graceG5485 of 7GodG2316, rejoicedG5463, and exhortedG3870 all with purposeG4286 of heartG2588 to abide with the LordG2962; 24for he wasG1510 a goodG18 manG435 and fullG4134 of [the] HolyG40 SpiritG4151 and of faithG4102; and a largeG2425 crowdG3793 [of peopleG3793] wereG1510 addedG4369 to the LordG2962. 25And he wentG1831 awayG1831 to TarsusG5019 to seek out SaulG4569. 26And having foundG2147 [him], he broughtG71 him to AntiochG490. And so it was with them that for a wholeG3650 yearG1763 they were gatheredG4863 togetherG4863 in the assemblyG1577 and taughtG1321 a largeG2425 crowdG3793: and the disciplesG3101 were firstG4413 called ChristiansG5546 in AntiochG490. 27NowG1161 in these daysG2250 prophetsG4396 went downG2718 from JerusalemG2414 to AntiochG490; 28and oneG1520 from among them, by nameG3686 AgabusG13, roseG450 up and signified by the SpiritG4151 that there wasG1510 going to beG1510 a greatG3173 famineG3042 over all the inhabitedG3625 earthG3625, which alsoG1161 cameG1096 to passG1096 under ClaudiusG2804. 29And they determined, according as any oneG5100 of the disciplesG3101 was well off, each of them to sendG3992 to the brethren who dwelt in Judaea, to minister [to them]; 30which alsoG2532 they did, sendingG649 it to the eldersG4245 by the handG5495 of BarnabasG921 and SaulG4569.
