Acts 20
Darby Bible
1But after the tumult had ceasedG3973, PaulG3972 having called the disciplesG3101 to [him] and embraced [them], wentG1831 awayG1831 to goG4198 to MacedoniaG3109. 2And having passedG1330 through those partsG3313, and having exhortedG3870 them with muchG4183 discourse, he cameG2064 to Greece. 3And having spent threeG5140 monthsG3376 [there], a treacherous plotG1917 against him having been setG321 on foot by the JewsG2453, as he was going to sailG321 to SyriaG4947, [the] resolution was adopted of returningG5290 through MacedoniaG3109. 4And there accompanied him as far as Asia, Sopater [son] of Pyrrhus, a Berean; and of ThessaloniansG2331, AristarchusG708 and Secundus, and GaiusG1050 and Timotheus of Derbe, and of Asia, TychicusG5190 and TrophimusG5161. 5These goingG4281 before waited for us in TroasG5174; 6but we sailedG1602 awayG575 from PhilippiG5375 after the daysG2250 of unleavenedG106 bread, and we cameG2064 to them to TroasG5174 in fiveG4002 daysG2250, whereG3699 we spent sevenG2033 daysG2250. 7And the firstG1520 dayG1887 of the weekG4521, we being assembled to breakG2806 breadG740, PaulG3972 discoursed to them, about to depart on the morrow. And he prolonged the discourse till midnightG3317. 8And there wereG1510 manyG2425 lights in the upperG5253 roomG5253 whereG3757 we wereG1510 assembled. 9And a certainG5100 youth, by nameG3686 Eutychus, sitting at the window-opening, overpowered by deepG901 sleepG5258, while PaulG3972 discoursed very muchG4183 at length, having been overpowered by the sleepG5258, fellG4098 from the third story downG4098 to the bottomG2736, and was takenG142 up deadG3498. 10But PaulG3972 descendingG2597 fell upon him, and enfolding [him] [in his arms], saidG3004, BeG1510 not troubled, for his lifeG5590 isG1510 in him. 11And having goneG1831 up, and having brokenG2806 the breadG740, and eatenG1089, and having longG2425 spoken until daybreak, so he wentG1831 awayG1831. 12And they broughtG71 [awayG71] the boyG3816 aliveG2198, and were no little comfortedG3870. 13And we, having goneG4281 before on board shipG4143, sailed off to AssosG789, going to takeG353 in PaulG3972 there; for so he had directedG1299, he himself beingG1510 about to goG4281 on foot. 14And whenG5613 he met with us at AssosG789, having takenG353 him on board, we cameG2064 to Mitylene; 15and having sailedG636 thence, on the morrow arrived opposite Chios, and the nextG2087 day put in at Samos; and having stayed at Trogyllium, the nextG2087 day we cameG2064 to MiletusG3399: 16for PaulG3972 thought it desirable to sail by EphesusG2181, so that he might not beG1510 made to spend time in AsiaG773; for he hastened, if it wasG1510 possibleG1415 for him, to beG1510 the dayG2250 of PentecostG4005 at JerusalemG2419. 17But from MiletusG3399 having sentG3992 to EphesusG2181, he calledG3333 over [to him] the eldersG4245 of the assemblyG1577. 18And whenG5613 they were comeG1096 to him, he saidG3004 to them, Ye knowG1987 howG4459 I was with you all the timeG5550 from the firstG4413 dayG2250 that I arrived in AsiaG773, 19servingG1398 the LordG2962 with all lowliness, and tearsG1144, and temptations, which happenedG4819 to me through the plotsG1917 of the JewsG2453; 20howG5613 I held backG5288 nothing of what is profitableG4851, so as not to announce [it] to you, and to teachG1321 you publiclyG1219 and in every houseG3624, 21testifyingG1263 to both JewsG2453 and GreeksG1672 repentanceG3341 towards 1GodG2316, and faithG4102 towards our LordG2962 JesusG2424 ChristG5547. 22And nowG3568, beholdG2400, boundG1210 in my spiritG4151 I goG4198 to JerusalemG2419, not knowing what things shall happen to me in it; 23only that the HolyG40 SpiritG4151 testifiesG1263 to me in every cityG4172, sayingG3004 that bonds and tribulationsG2347 await me. 24But I makeG4160 no accountG3056 of [my] lifeG5590 [as] dear to myself, so that I finishG5048 my courseG1408, and the ministryG1248 which I have receivedG2983 of the LordG2962 JesusG2424, to testifyG1263 the glad tidings of the graceG5485 of 2GodG2316. 25And nowG3568, beholdG2400, I know that ye all, among whom I have goneG1330 about preachingG2784 the kingdomG932 [of 3God], shall seeG3708 my faceG4383 no more. 26Wherefore I witness to you this dayG2250, that I amG1510 cleanG2513 from the bloodG129 of all, 27for I have not shrunk from announcing to you all the counselG1012 of 4GodG2316. 28TakeG4337 heed therefore to yourselves, and to all the flockG4168, wherein the HolyG40 SpiritG4151 has setG5087 you as overseersG1985, to shepherdG4165 the assemblyG1577 of 5GodG2316, which he has purchased with the bloodG129 of his ownG2398. 29[For] I know [this,] that there will comeG1525 in amongst you after my departure grievous wolvesG3074, not sparingG5339 the flockG4168; 30and from among your ownG1438 selves shall riseG450 up menG435 speakingG2980 pervertedG1294 things to draw away the disciplesG3101 after them. 31Wherefore watchG1127, rememberingG3421 that for three years, nightG3571 and dayG2250, I ceasedG3973 not admonishingG3560 each oneG1520 [of you] with tearsG1144. 32And nowG3568 I commitG3908 you to 6GodG2316, and to the wordG3056 of his graceG5485, which is ableG1410 to buildG3618 [you] up and giveG1325 [to you] an inheritanceG2817 among all the sanctifiedG37. 33I have covetedG1937 [the] silverG694 or goldG5553 or clothingG2441 of no oneG3762. 34Yourselves knowG1097 that these handsG5495 have ministered to my wants, and to those who wereG1510 with me. 35I have shewed you all thingsG3956, that thusG3779 labouring [we] oughtG1163 to come in aid of the weakG770, and to rememberG3421 the wordsG3056 of the LordG2962 JesusG2424, that he himself saidG3004, It isG1510 moreG3123 blessed to giveG1325 than to receiveG2983. 36And having saidG3004 these thingsG3778, he knelt downG5087 and prayedG4336 with them all. 37And they all wept sore; and falling upon the neckG5137 of PaulG3972 they ardently kissed him, 38specially pained by the wordG3056 which he had saidG3004, that they would no more seeG2334 his faceG4383. And they went down with him to the shipG4143.
