1 But Jesus Ἰησοῦς Iēsous G2424 , full πλήρης plērēs G4134 of [ the ] Holy ἁγίου hagiou G40 Spirit πνεύματος pneumatos G4151 , returned ὑπέστρεψεν hupestrepsen G5290 from the Jordan Ἰορδάνου Iordanou G2446 , and was led G71 by the Spirit πνεύματι pneumati G4151 in the wilderness ἐρήμῳ erēmō G2048 2 forty τεσσεράκοντα tesserakonta G5062 days ἡμέρας hēmeras G2250 , tempted πειραζόμενος peirazomenos G3985 of the devil διαβόλου. diabolou G1228 ; and in those days ἡμέραις hēmerais G2250 he did not eat G2068 anything , and when they were finished he hungered. 4 And Jesus Ἰησοῦς Iēsous G2424 answered ἀπεκρίθη apekrithē G611 unto him saying , It is written G1125 , Man ἄνθρωπος anthrōpos G444 shall not live ζήσεται zēsetai G2198 by bread ἄρτῳ artō G740 alone μόνῳ monō G3441 , but by every word of God . 5 And [ the devil], leading him up into a high mountain, shewed him all the kingdoms βασιλείας basileias G932 of the habitable world οἰκουμένης oikoumenēs G3625 in a moment of time χρόνου chronou G5550 . 6 And the devil διάβολος· diabolos G1228 said G3004 to him , I will give δώσω dōsō G1325 thee all this power G1849 , and their glory δόξαν doxan G1391 ;
