12And there was a greatG4183dealG4183of talkG1112aboutπερὶperiG4012Him inG1112secretG1112amongἐνenG1722the crowdsὄχλοις.ochloisG3793:someμὲνmenG3588G3303were sayingἔλεγονelegonG3004, “He is a goodἀγαθόςagathosG18manG18”;othersἄλλοιalloiG243were sayingἔλεγον·elegonG3004, “Noοὔ,ouG3756,on the contraryἀλλὰallaG235,He is misleadingπλανᾷplanaG4105the peopleὄχλον.ochlonG3793.”
13HoweverμέντοιmentoiG3305,noG3762oneοὐδεὶςoudeisG3762was speakingἐλάλειelaleiG2980openlyπαρρησίᾳparrēsiaG3954aboutπερὶperiG4012Him, forfearφόβονphobonG5401ofthe JewsἸουδαίων.¶IoudaiōnG2453.
14But when it was nowἬδηĒdēG2235the middleμεσούσηςmesousēsG3322of the feastἑορτῆςhe'ortēsG1859,JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424wentG305upG305into the templeG2413area, and began toteachἐδίδασκεν.edidaskenG1321.
15The JewsἸουδαῖοιIoudaioiG2453thenοὖνounG3767wereG2296astonishedG2296,sayingλέγοντες·legontesG3004, “HowπῶςpōsG4459has thisG3778ManG3778becomeG3609learnedγράμματαgrammataG3609G1121,not having been educatedμεμαθηκώς;¶memathēkōsG3129?”

26And yetlookἴδεideG2396,He is speakingλαλεῖ,laleiG2980publiclyπαρρησίᾳparrēsiaG3954,and they are sayingλέγουσιν.legousinG3004nothingοὐδὲνoudenG3762to Him.The rulersἄρχοντεςarchontesG758do not reallyἀληθῶςalēthōsG230knowἔγνωσανegnōsanG1097that thisοὗτόςhoutosG3778is theChristχριστός;christosG5547, do they?

29I do knowG3609Him, becauseὅτιhotiG3754I amεἰμι,eimiG1510from Him, andHe sentἀπέστειλεν.apesteilenG649Me.”

38The one who believesπιστεύωνpisteuōnG4100in Me,as the Scriptureγραφή,graphēG1124saidG3004, ‘From his innermostG2836beingG2836will flowῥεύσουσινrheusousinG4482riversποταμοὶpotamoiG4215oflivingζῶντος.zōntosG2198waterὕδατοςhudatosG5204.’”
39But thisτοῦτοtoutoG3778He saidG3004inG4012referenceG4012toG4012the SpiritπνεύματοςpneumatosG4151,whomὃhoG3739thoseG3588who believedπιστεύσαντεςpisteusantesG4100in Him were to receiveλαμβάνεινlambaneinG2983; forthe SpiritπνεῦμαpneumaG4151was not yetοὔπωoupōG3768given,becauseὅτιhotiG3754JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424was not yetοὐδέπωoudepōG3764glorifiedἐδοξάσθη.¶edoxasthēG1392.

People’s Division over Jesus
