Mark 10:1-31

11GettingG450 up, He wentG2064 from thereG1564 to the regionG3725 of JudeaG2453 and beyondG4008 the JordanG2446; crowdsG3793 gatheredG4848 aroundG4314 Him againG3825, and, 2accordingG5613 to His customG1486, He onceG3825 moreG3825 began to teachG1321 them.

2Some PhariseesG5330 cameG4334 up to Jesus, testingG3985 Him, and began to questionG1905 Him whetherG1487 it was lawfulG1832 for a manG435 to 3divorceG630 a wifeG1135. 3And He answeredG611 and saidG3004 to them, “WhatG5101 did MosesG3475 commandG1781 you?” 4They saidG3004, “4MosesG3475 permittedG2010 a man to writeG1125 a certificateG975 of divorceG647 and 5sendG630 her awayG630.” 5But JesusG2424 saidG3004 to them, “67BecauseG4314 of your hardnessG4641 of heartG4641 he wroteG1125 you thisG3778 commandmentG1785. 6But 8from the beginningG746 of creationG2937, God 9madeG4160 them maleG733 and femaleG2338. 710For thisG3778 reasonG1752 a manG444 shall leaveG2641 his fatherG3962 and motherG338411, 812and the twoG1417 shall becomeG1510G1519 oneG1520 fleshG4561; soG5620 they are noG3765 longerG3765 twoG1417, but oneG1520 fleshG4561. 9WhatG3739 thereforeG3767 GodG2316 has joinedG4801 togetherG4801, let noG3361 manG444 separateG5563.”

10In the houseG3614 the disciplesG3101 began questioningG1905 Him aboutG4012 thisG3778 againG3825. 11And He saidG3004 to them, “13WhoeverG3739G302 14divorcesG630 his wifeG1135 and marriesG1060 anotherG243 womanG243 commitsG3429 adulteryG3429 againstG1909 her; 12and 15ifG1437 she herselfG846 16divorcesG630 her husbandG435 and marriesG1060 anotherG243 manG243, she is committingG3431 adulteryG3429.”

1317And they were bringingG4374 childrenG3813 to Him soG2443 that He might touchG681 them; but the disciplesG3101 rebukedG2008 them. 14But when JesusG2424 sawG3708 this, He was indignantG23 and saidG3004 to them, “PermitG863 the childrenG3813 to comeG2064 to Me; do not hinderG2967 them; 18for the kingdomG932 of GodG2316 belongsG1510 to suchG5108 as theseG5108. 15TrulyG281 I sayG3004 to you, 19whoeverG3739G302 does not receiveG1209 the kingdomG932 of GodG2316 likeG5613 a childG3813 will not enterG1525 it at all.” 16And He 20tookG1723 them in His armsG1723 and began blessingG2721 them, layingG5087 His handsG5495 on them.

1721As He was settingG1607 out on a journeyG3598, a manG1520 ranG4370 up to Him and 22kneltG1120 beforeG1120 Him, and askedG1905 Him, “GoodG18 TeacherG1320, whatG5101 shall I doG4160 to 23inheritG2816 eternalG166 lifeG2222?” 18And JesusG2424 saidG3004 to him, “WhyG5101 do you callG3004 Me goodG18? NoG3762 oneG3762 is goodG18 exceptG1508 GodG2316 aloneG1520. 19You knowG3609 the commandmentsG1785, ‘24Do not murderG5407, Do not commitG3431 adulteryG3431, Do not stealG2813, Do not bearG5576 falseG5576 witnessG5576, Do not defraudG650, HonorG5091 your fatherG3962 and motherG3384.’” 20And he saidG5346 to Him, “TeacherG1320, I have keptG5442 25allG3956 theseG3778 thingsG3778 from my youthG3503 up.” 21LookingG1689 at him, JesusG2424 feltG25 a loveG25 for him and saidG3004 to him, “OneG1520 thingG1520 you lackG5302: goG5217 and sellG4453 allG3745 you possessG2192 and giveG1325 to the poorG4434, and you will haveG2192 26treasureG2344 in heavenG3772; and comeG1204, followG190 Me.” 22But at theseG3588 wordsG3056 27he was saddenedG4768, and he wentG565 awayG565 grievingG3076, for he was one who ownedG2192 muchG4183 propertyG2933.

23And JesusG2424, lookingG4017 aroundG4017, saidG3004 to His disciplesG3101, “28HowG4459 hardG1423 it will be for thoseG3588 who are wealthyG5536 to enterG1525 the kingdomG932 of GodG2316!” 24The disciplesG3101 29were amazedG2284 at His wordsG3056. But JesusG2424 answeredG611 againG3825 and saidG3004 to them, “ChildrenG5043, howG4459 hardG1422 it is to enterG1525 the kingdomG932 of GodG2316! 2530It is easierG2123 for a camelG2574 to goG1330 throughG1223 the eyeG5168 of a needleG4476 thanG2228 for a richG4145 manG4145 to enterG1525 the kingdomG932 of GodG2316.” 26They were evenG4057 moreG4057 astonishedG1605 and saidG3004 to Him, “31ThenG2532 whoG5101 canG1410 be savedG4982?” 27LookingG1689 at them, JesusG2424 saidG3004, “32With peopleG444 it is impossibleG102, but not with GodG2316; for allG3956 thingsG3956 are possibleG1415 with GodG2316.”

2833PeterG4074 beganG757 to sayG3004 to Him, “BeholdG2400, we have leftG863 everythingG3956 and followedG190 You.” 29JesusG2424 saidG5346, “TrulyG281 I sayG3004 to you, 34there is noG3762 oneG3762 whoG3739 has leftG863 houseG3614 orG2228 brothersG80 orG2228 sistersG79 orG2228 motherG3384 orG2228 fatherG3962 orG2228 childrenG5043 orG2228 farmsG68, for My sakeG1752 and for the gospel’sG2098 sakeG1752, 3035but that he will receiveG2983 a hundredG1542 timesG1542 as muchG1542 nowG3568 in 36the presentG3778 ageG2540, housesG3614 and brothersG80 and sistersG79 and mothersG3384 and childrenG5043 and farmsG68, along with persecutionsG1375; and in 37the ageG165 to comeG2064, eternalG166 lifeG2222. 31But 38manyG4183 who are firstG4413 will be lastG2078, and the lastG2078, firstG4413.”
