The Warnings of History to the Ungodly
112JudeG2455, a 3bond-servantG1401 of JesusG2424 ChristG5547, and brotherG80 of 4JamesG2385,
To 5thoseG3588 who are the calledG2822, belovedG25 in GodG2316 the FatherG3962, and 6keptG5083 for JesusG2424 ChristG5547: 27May mercyG1656 and peaceG1515 and loveG26 8be multipliedG4129 to you.
39BelovedG27, while I was makingG4160 everyG3956 effortG4710 to writeG1125 you aboutG4012 our 10commonG2839 salvationG4991, I feltG2192 the necessityG318 to writeG1125 to you appealingG3870 that you 11contendG1864 earnestlyG1864 for 12the faithG4102 which was onceG530 for allG530 13handedG3860 downG3860 to 14the 15saintsG40. 4For certainG5100 personsG444 have 16creptG3921 in unnoticedG3921, thoseG3588 who were longG3819 beforehandG4270 1718markedG4270 out for thisG3778 condemnationG2917, ungodlyG765 personsG765 who turnG3346 19the graceG5485 of our GodG2316 into 20licentiousnessG766 and 21denyG720 our onlyG3441 MasterG1203 and LordG2962, JesusG2424 ChristG5547.
5NowG1161 I desireG1014 to 22remindG5279 you, though 23you knowG3609 allG3956 thingsG3956 onceG530 for allG530, that 24the LordG2962, 25after savingG4982 a peopleG2992 out of the landG1093 of EgyptG125, 26subsequentlyG1208 destroyedG622 thoseG3588 who did not believeG4100. 6And 27angelsG32 who did not keepG5083 their ownG1438 domainG746, but abandonedG620 their properG2398 abodeG3613, He has 28keptG5083 in eternalG126 bondsG1199 underG5259 darknessG2217 for the judgmentG2920 of the greatG3173 dayG2250, 7justG5613 as 29SodomG4670 and GomorrahG1116 and the 30citiesG4172 aroundG4012 them, since they in the sameG3664 wayG5158 as theseG3778 indulgedG1608 in grossG1608 immoralityG1608 and 31wentG565 afterG3694 32strangeG2087 fleshG4561, are exhibitedG4295 as an 3334exampleG1164 in undergoingG5254 the 35punishmentG1349 of eternalG166 fireG4442.
8YetG3305 in the sameG3668 wayG3668 theseG3778 menG3778, alsoG2532 by dreamingG1797, 36defileG3392 the fleshG4561, and rejectG114 authorityG2963, and revileG987 37angelic majestiesG1391. 9But 38MichaelG3413 39the archangelG743, whenG3753 he disputedG1252 with the devilG1228 and arguedG1256 aboutG4012 40the bodyG4983 of MosesG3475, did not dareG5111 pronounceG2018 againstG2018 him a railingG988 judgmentG2920, but saidG3004, “41The LordG2962 rebukeG2008 you!” 10But 42theseG3778 menG3778 revileG987 the things whichG3745 they do not understandG3609; and 43the things whichG3745 they knowG1987 by instinctG5447, 44likeG5613 unreasoningG249 animalsG2226, by theseG3778 thingsG3778 they are 45destroyedG5351. 11WoeG3759 to them! For they have goneG4198 46the wayG3598 of CainG2535, and for payG3408 47they have rushedG1632 headlongG1632 into 48the errorG4106 of BalaamG903, and 49perishedG622 in the rebellionG485 of KorahG2879. 12TheseG3778 are the menG3778 who are 50hiddenG4694 reefsG4694 51in your loveG26 feastsG26 when they feastG4910 with you 52withoutG870 fearG870, caringG4165 for themselvesG1438; 53cloudsG3507 withoutG504 waterG504, 54carriedG3911 alongG3911 by windsG417; autumnG5352 treesG1186 withoutG175 fruitG175, 55doublyG1364 deadG599, 56uprootedG1610; 1357wildG66 wavesG2949 of the seaG2281, castingG1890 up 58their ownG1438 59shameG152 likeG1890 foamG1890; wanderingG4107 starsG792, 60for whomG3739 the 61blackG2217 darknessG4655 has been reservedG5083 foreverG165.
14It was alsoG2532 about theseG3778 men that 62EnochG1802, in the seventhG1442 generation from AdamG76, prophesiedG4395, sayingG3004, “63BeholdG2400, the LordG2962 cameG2064 with 64manyG3461 thousandsG3461 of His holyG40 onesG40, 1565to executeG4160 judgmentG2920 upon allG3956, and to convictG1651 allG3956 the ungodlyG765 of allG3956 their ungodlyG763 deedsG2041 whichG3739 they have doneG764 in an ungodlyG764 wayG764, and of allG3956 the harshG4642 thingsG4642 whichG3739 66ungodlyG763 sinnersG268 have spokenG2980 againstG2596 Him.” 16TheseG3778 are 67grumblersG1113, findingG3202 faultG3202, 68followingG4198 afterG2596 their own lustsG1939; 69they speakG2980 70arrogantlyG5246, flatteringG2296 peopleG4383 71for the sakeG5484 of gaining an advantageG5622.
Keep Yourselves in the Love of God
17But you, 72belovedG27, 73ought to rememberG3403 the wordsG4487 that were spokenG4275 beforehandG4275 by 74the apostlesG652 of our LordG2962 JesusG2424 ChristG5547, 18that they were sayingG3004 to you, “75In the lastG2078 timeG5550 there will be mockersG1703, 76followingG4198 afterG2596 their ownG1438 ungodlyG763 lustsG1939.” 19TheseG3778 are the ones who causeG592 divisionsG592, 7778worldly-mindedG5591, 79devoidG3361G2192 of the SpiritG4151. 20But you, 80belovedG27, 81buildingG2026 yourselvesG1438 up on your mostG40 holyG40 82faithG4102, 83prayingG4336 in the HolyG40 SpiritG4151, 21keepG5083 yourselvesG1438 in the loveG26 of GodG2316, 84waitingG4327 anxiouslyG4327 for the mercyG1656 of our LordG2962 JesusG2424 ChristG5547 to eternalG166 lifeG2222. 22And haveG1653 mercyG1653 on someG3739G3303, who are doubtingG1252; 23saveG4982 others, 85snatchingG726 them out of the fireG4442; and on someG3739 haveG1653 mercyG1653 with fearG5401, 86hatingG3404 evenG2532 the garmentG5509 pollutedG4695 by the fleshG4561.
2487NowG1161 to Him who is ableG1410 to keepG5442 you from stumblingG679, and to 88makeG2476 you standG2476 in the presenceG2714 of His gloryG1391 blamelessG299 with 89greatG20 joyG20, 25to the 90onlyG3441 91GodG2316 our SaviorG4990, throughG1223 JesusG2424 ChristG5547 our LordG2962, 92be gloryG1391, majestyG3172, dominionG2904 and authorityG1849, 93beforeG4253 allG3956 timeG165 and nowG3568 and 94foreverG165. AmenG281.
