Mark 3

Jesus Heals on the Sabbath

11He 2enteredG1525 againG3825 into a synagogueG4864; and a manG444 was thereG1563 whose handG5495 was witheredG3583. 23They were watchingG3906 Him to see ifG1487 He would healG2323 him on the SabbathG4521, 4soG2443 that they might accuseG2723 Him. 3He saidG3004 to the manG444 with the witheredG3584 handG5495, “5GetG1453 up and come forwardG1519G3319!” 4And He saidG3004 to them, “Is it lawfulG1832 to doG4160 goodG18 orG2228 to doG2554 harmG2554 on the SabbathG4521, to saveG4982 a lifeG5590 orG2228 to killG615?” But they keptG4623 silentG4623. 5After 6lookingG4017 aroundG4017 at them with angerG3709, grievedG4818 at their hardnessG4457 of heartG2588, He saidG3004 to the manG444, “StretchG1614 out your handG5495.” And he stretchedG1614 it out, and his handG5495 was restoredG600. 6The PhariseesG5330 wentG1831 out and immediatelyG2117 began 7conspiringG4824 with the 8HerodiansG2265 againstG2596 Him, as to howG3704 they might destroyG622 Him.

79JesusG2424 withdrewG402 to the seaG2281 with His disciplesG3101; and 10a greatG4183 multitudeG4128 from GalileeG1056 followedG190; and also from JudeaG2453, 8and from JerusalemG2414, and from 11IdumeaG2401, and beyondG4008 the JordanG2446, and the vicinityG4012 of 12TyreG5184 and SidonG4605, a greatG4183 numberG4128 of peopleG4128 heardG191 of allG3745 that He was doingG4160 and cameG2064 to Him. 913And He toldG3004 His disciplesG3101 that a boatG4142 should standG4342 readyG4342 for Him becauseG1223 of the crowdG3793, soG2443 that they would not crowdG2346 Him; 10for He had 14healedG2323 manyG4183, with the resultG5620 that allG3745 those whoG3745 hadG2192 15afflictionsG3148 pressedG1968 aroundG1968 Him in orderG2443 to 16touchG681 Him. 11WheneverG3752 the uncleanG169 spiritsG4151 sawG2334 Him, they would fallG4363 downG4363 beforeG4363 Him and shoutG2896, “You are 17the SonG5207 of GodG2316!” 12And He 18earnestlyG4183 warnedG2008 them not to 19tellG5318 whoG846 He was.

The Twelve Are Chosen

13And He wentG305 up on 20the mountainG3735 and 21summonedG4341 those whomG3739 He HimselfG846 wantedG2309, and they cameG565 to Him. 14And He appointedG4160 twelveG1427, soG2443 that they would be with Him and that He could sendG649 them out to preachG2784, 15and to haveG2192 authorityG1849 to castG1544 out the demonsG1140. 16And He appointedG4160 the twelveG1427: 22SimonG4613 (to whom He gaveG2007 the nameG3686 PeterG4074), 17and 23JamesG2385, the son of ZebedeeG2199, and JohnG2491 the brotherG80 of 24JamesG2385 (to them He gaveG2007 the nameG3686 BoanergesG993, whichG3739 meansG1510, “SonsG5207 of ThunderG1027”); 18and AndrewG406, and PhilipG5376, and BartholomewG918, and MatthewG3102, and ThomasG2381, and 25JamesG2385 the son of AlphaeusG256, and ThaddaeusG2280, and SimonG4613 the 26ZealotG2581; 19and JudasG2455 IscariotG2469, whoG3739 betrayedG3860 Him.

20And He cameG2064 2728homeG3624, and the 29crowdG3793 gatheredG4905 againG3825, 30to suchG5620 an extentG5620 that they couldG1410 not evenG3366 eatG2068 31a mealG740. 21When 32His own 33people heardG191 of this, they wentG1831 out to takeG2902 custodyG2902 of Him; for they were sayingG3004, “34He has lostG1839 His sensesG1839.” 22The scribesG1122 who cameG2597 downG2597 35from JerusalemG2414 were sayingG3004, “He is possessedG2192 by 3637BeelzebulG954,” and “38He castsG1544 out the demonsG1140 by the rulerG758 of the demonsG1140.” 2339And He calledG4341 them to Himself and began speakingG3004 to them in 40parablesG3850, “HowG4459 canG1410 41SatanG4567 castG1544 out SatanG4567? 24IfG1437 a kingdomG932 is dividedG3307 againstG1909 itselfG1438, that kingdomG932 cannotG1410G3756 standG2476. 25IfG1437 a houseG3614 is dividedG3307 againstG1909 itselfG1438, that houseG3614 will not be ableG1410 to standG2476. 26IfG1487 42SatanG4567 has risenG450 up againstG1909 himselfG1438 and is dividedG3307, he cannotG1410G3756 standG2476, but 43he is finishedG5056! 2744But noG3762 oneG3762 canG1410 enterG1525 the strongG2478 man’sG2478 houseG3614 and plunderG1283 his propertyG4632 unlessG1437G3361 he firstG4413 bindsG1210 the strongG2478 manG2478, and thenG5119 he will plunderG1283 his houseG3614.

28“45TrulyG281 I sayG3004 to you, allG3956 sinsG265 shall be forgivenG863 the sonsG5207 of menG444, and whateverG3745G1437 blasphemiesG988 they utterG987; 29but 46whoeverG3739G302 blasphemesG987 againstG1519 the HolyG40 SpiritG4151 neverG3756G1519G165 hasG2192 forgivenessG859, but is guiltyG1777 of an eternalG166 sinG265”-- 30becauseG3754 they were sayingG3004, “He hasG2192 an uncleanG169 spiritG4151.”

3147ThenG2532 His motherG3384 and His brothersG80 arrivedG2064, and standingG4739 outsideG1854 they sentG649 word to Him and calledG2564 Him. 32A crowdG3793 was sittingG2521 aroundG4012 Him, and they saidG3004 to Him, “BeholdG2400, Your motherG3384 and Your brothersG80 are outsideG1854 lookingG2212 for You.” 33AnsweringG611 them, He saidG3004, “WhoG5101 are My motherG3384 and My brothersG80?” 34LookingG4017 aboutG4017 at thoseG3588 who were sittingG2521 aroundG4012G2945 Him, He saidG3004, “48BeholdG2396 My motherG3384 and My brothersG80! 35For whoeverG3739G302 49doesG4160 the willG2307 of GodG2316, he is My brotherG80 and sisterG79 and motherG3384.”
