Mark 4:10-41
10As soonG3753 as He was aloneG3441, 1His followersG3588G4012, alongG4862 with the twelveG1427 disciples, began askingG2065 Him about the parablesG3850. 11And He was sayingG3004 to them, “To you has been givenG1325 the mysteryG3466 of the kingdomG932 of GodG2316, but for 2thoseG1565 who are outsideG1854, everythingG3956 comesG1096 3in parablesG3850, 12soG2443 thatG2443 4while seeingG991 they may seeG991, and not perceiveG3708, and while hearingG191, they may hearG191, and not understandG4920, otherwiseG3379 they might returnG1994 and it would be forgivenG863 them.”
135And He saidG3004 to them, “Do you not understandG3609 thisG3778 parableG3850? HowG4459 will you understandG1097 allG3956 the parablesG3850? 14The sowerG4687 sowsG4687 the wordG3056. 15TheseG3778 are the ones whoG3588 are besideG3844 the roadG3598 whereG3699 the wordG3056 is sownG4687; and whenG3752 they hearG191, immediatelyG2117 6SatanG4567 comesG2064 and takesG142 awayG142 the wordG3056 which has been sownG4687 in them. 16And in a similarG3668 wayG3668 theseG3778 are the ones sownG4687 with seed on the rockyG4075 places, whoG3739, whenG3752 they hearG191 the wordG3056, immediatelyG2117 receiveG2983 it with joyG5479; 17and yet they haveG2192 noG3756 firm rootG4491 in themselvesG1438, but are only temporaryG4340; thenG1534, when afflictionG2347 orG2228 persecutionG1375 occursG1096 becauseG1223 of the wordG3056, immediatelyG2117 they 7fallG4624 awayG4624. 18And othersG243 are the ones sownG4687 with seed amongG1519 the thornsG173; theseG3778 are the ones who have heardG191 the wordG3056, 19but the worriesG3308 of 8the 9worldG165, and the 10deceitfulnessG539 of wealthG4149, and the desiresG1939 for otherG3062 thingsG3062 enterG1531 and chokeG4846 the wordG3056, and it 11becomesG1096 unfruitfulG175. 20And thoseG1565 are the ones sownG4687 with seed on the goodG2570 soilG1093; and they hearG191 the wordG3056 and acceptG3858 it and 12bearG2592 fruitG2592, thirtyG5144, sixtyG1835, and a hundredG1540 times as much.”
21And He was sayingG3004 to them, “13A lampG3088 is not broughtG2064 to be putG5087 underG5259 a 14basketG3426, orG2228 underG5259 a bedG2825, is it? Is it not brought to be putG5087 on the lampstandG3087? 2215For nothingG3756G5100 is hiddenG2927, exceptG1437G3361 to be revealedG5319; norG3761 has anything beenG1096 secretG614, but that it would comeG2064 to lightG5318. 2316IfG1487 anyoneG5100 hasG2192 earsG3775 to hearG191, 17let him hearG191.” 24And He was sayingG3004 to them, “TakeG991 careG991 whatG5101 you listenG191 to. 1819By your standardG3358 of measureG3354 it will be measuredG3354 to you; and more will be givenG4369 you besidesG4369. 2520For whoeverG3739 hasG2192, to him more will be givenG1325; and whoeverG3739 does not haveG2192, evenG2532 whatG3739 he hasG2192 will be takenG142 awayG142 from him.”
26And He was sayingG3004, “The kingdomG932 of GodG2316 is likeG3779G5613 a manG444 who castsG906 seedG4703 upon the soilG1093; 27and he goesG2518 toG2518 bedG2518 at nightG3571 and getsG1453 upG1453 dailyG2250, and the seedG4703 sproutsG985 and growsG3373--howG5613, he himselfG846 does not knowG3609. 28The soilG1093 producesG2592 cropsG2592 byG844 itselfG844; firstG4413 the stalkG5528, thenG1535 the headG4719, thenG1535 the matureG4134 grainG4621 in the headG4719. 29NowG1161 whenG3752 the cropG2590 permitsG3860, he immediatelyG2117 2122putsG649 inG649 the sickleG1407, becauseG3754 the harvestG2326 has comeG3936.”
3023And He was sayingG3004, “HowG4459 shall we 2425pictureG3666 the kingdomG932 of GodG2316, orG2228 by whatG5101 parableG3850 shall we presentG5087 it? 31It is likeG5613 a mustardG4615 seedG2848, whichG3739, whenG3752 sownG4687 upon the soilG1093, though it is the smallestG3398 of allG3956 the seedsG4690 that are upon the soilG1093, 32yetG2532 whenG3752 it is sownG4687, it growsG305 upG305 and becomesG1096 largerG3173 than allG3956 the gardenG3001 plantsG3001, and formsG4160 largeG3173 branchesG2798, withG5620 theG5620 resultG5620 thatG5620 26the birdsG4071 of the skyG3772 canG1410 nestG2681 underG5259 its shadeG4639.”
33And with manyG4183 suchG5108 parablesG3850 He was speakingG2980 the wordG3056 to them, soG2531 farG2531 asG2531 they were ableG1410 to 27understandG191 it; 34and He did not speakG2980 to them 28withoutG5565 a parableG3850; but He was 29explainingG1956 everythingG3956 privatelyG2596G2398 to His ownG2398 disciplesG3101.
3530On that dayG2250, when eveningG3798 cameG1096, He saidG3004 to them, “Let’s goG1330 overG1330 to the otherG4008 sideG4008.” 36After dismissingG863 the crowdG3793, they tookG3880 Him alongG3880 with them 31in the boatG4143, justG5613 asG5613 He was; and otherG243 boatsG4143 were with Him. 37And a fierceG3173 galeG2978 of windG417 developedG1096, and the wavesG2949 were breakingG1911 overG1911 the boatG4143 soG5620 much that the boatG4143 was alreadyG2235 fillingG1072 with water. 38And yet Jesus HimselfG846 was in the sternG4403, asleepG2518 on the cushionG4344; and they wokeG1453 Him and saidG3004 to Him, “TeacherG1320, do You not careG3199 that we are perishingG622?” 39And He gotG1326 upG1326 and 32rebukedG2008 the windG417 and saidG3004 to the seaG2281, “HushG4623, be stillG5392.” And the windG417 diedG2869 downG2869 and 33it becameG1096 perfectlyG3173 calmG1055. 40And He saidG3004 to them, “WhyG5101 are you 34afraidG1169? 35Do you stillG3768 haveG2192 noG3768 faithG4102?” 41They becameG5399 veryG3173 muchG3173 afraidG5399 and saidG3004 to oneG240 anotherG240, “WhoG5101, thenG686, is thisG3778, that evenG2532 the windG417 and the seaG2281 obeyG5219 Him?”
