Hosea’s Wife and Children
1The wordH1697 of the LordH3068 whichH834 cameH1961 to 1HoseaH1954 the sonH1121 of BeeriH882, during the daysH3117 of 2UzziahH5818, 3JothamH3147, 4AhazH271, and 5HezekiahH2396, kingsH4428 of JudahH3063, and during the daysH3117 of 6JeroboamH3379 the sonH1121 of JoashH3060, kingH4428 of IsraelH3478.
2When the LordH3068 firstH8462 spokeH1696 through HoseaH1954, the LordH3068 saidH559 to HoseaH1954, “7GoH1980, takeH3947 for yourself a wifeH802 8inclined to infidelityH2183, and childrenH3206 of infidelityH2183; for 9the landH776 commitsH2181 flagrantH2181 infidelityH2181, 10abandoningH4480H310 the LordH3068.” 3So he wentH1980 and tookH3947 GomerH1586 the daughterH1323 of DiblaimH1691, and she conceivedH2029 and 11boreH3205 him a sonH1121. 4And the LordH3068 saidH559 to him, “NameH7121H8034 him 12JezreelH3157; for in justH5750 a littleH4592 whileH4592 13I will 14punishH6485 the houseH1004 of JehuH3058 for the bloodshedH1818 of JezreelH3157, and 15I will putH7673 anH7673 endH7673 toH7673 the kingdomH4468 of the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478. 5On that dayH3117 I will 16breakH7665 the bowH7198 of IsraelH3478 in the 17ValleyH6010 of JezreelH3157.”
6Then she conceivedH2029 againH5750 and gaveH3205 birthH3205 to a daughterH1323. And 18the Lord saidH559 to him, “NameH7121H8034 her 19Lo-ruhamahH3819, for I will noH3808 longerH3254H5750 20takeH7355 pityH7355 onH7355 the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478, that I would everH5375 forgiveH5375 them. 7But I will takeH7355 21pityH7355 onH7355 the houseH1004 of JudahH3063 and 22saveH3467 them by the LordH3068 their GodH430, and will not saveH3467 them by 23bowH7198, swordH2719, battleH4421, horsesH5483, or horsemenH6571.”
8When she had weanedH1580 Lo-ruhamahH3819, she conceivedH2029 and gaveH3205 birthH3205 to a sonH1121. 9And 24the Lord saidH559, “NameH7121H8034 him 25Lo-ammiH3818, becauseH3588 you are not My peopleH5971, and I am not 26your God.”
1027Yet the numberH4557 of the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478 Will be like the 28sandH2344 of the seaH3220, WhichH834 cannotH3808 be measuredH4058 or countedH5608; And 29in the placeH4725 WhereH834 it is saidH559 to them, “You are 30not My peopleH5971,” It will be saidH559 to them, “You are the 31sonsH1121 of the livingH2416 GodH410.”11And the 32sonsH1121 of JudahH3063 and the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478 will be 33gatheredH6908 togetherH3164, And they will appointH7760 for themselves 34oneH259 leaderH7218, And they will goH5927 upH5927 from the landH776, For the dayH3117 of JezreelH3157 will be greatH1419.
