Mark 3

Jesus Heals on the Sabbath

11He 2enteredG1525 a synagogueG4864 againG3825; and a manG444 was thereG1563 whose handG5495 was witheredG3583. 2And 3they were watchingG3906 Him 4closelyG3906 to see ifG1487 He would healG2323 him on the SabbathG4521, 5soG2443 thatG2443 they might accuseG2723 Him. 3He saidG3004 to the manG444 with the witheredG3584 handG5495, “6GetG1453 upG1453 and come forwardG1519G3319!” 4And He saidG3004 to them, “Is it lawfulG1832 to doG4160 goodG18 on the SabbathG4521 orG2228 to doG2554 harmG2554, to saveG4982 a lifeG5590 orG2228 to killG615?” But they keptG4623 silentG4623. 5After 7lookingG4017 aroundG4017 at them with angerG3709, grievedG4818 at their hardnessG4457 of heartG2588, He saidG3004 to the manG444, “StretchG1614 outG1614 your handG5495.” And he stretchedG1614 it outG1614, and his handG5495 was restoredG600. 6The PhariseesG5330 wentG1831 outG1831 and immediatelyG2117 began 8conspiringG4824 with the 9HerodiansG2265 againstG2596 Him, as to howG3704 they might putG622 Him toG622 deathG622.

710JesusG2424 withdrewG402 to the seaG2281 with His disciplesG3101; and 11a largeG4183 multitudeG4128 from GalileeG1056 followedG190, and also from JudeaG2449, 8and from JerusalemG2414, and from 12IdumeaG2401, and beyondG4008 the JordanG2446, and the vicinityG4012 of 13TyreG5184 and SidonG4605, a greatG4183 numberG4128 ofG4128 peopleG4128 heardG191 about everythingG3745 that He was doingG4160 and cameG2064 to Him. 914And He toldG3004 His disciplesG3101 to see that a boatG4142 would be readyG4342 for Him becauseG1223 of the 15massesG3793, soG2443 thatG2443 they would not crowdG2346 Him; 10for He had 16healedG2323 manyG4183, withG5620 theG5620 resultG5620 thatG5620 allG3745 those whoG3745 hadG2192 17diseasesG3148 pushedG1968 inG1968 aroundG1968 Him inG2443 orderG2443 toG2443 18touchG681 Him. 11And wheneverG3752 the uncleanG169 spiritsG4151 sawG2334 Him, they would fallG4363 downG4363 beforeG4363 Him and shoutG2896, “You are 19the SonG5207 of GodG2316!” 12And He 20stronglyG4183 warnedG2008 them not to 21revealG5318 whoG846 He was.

The Twelve Are Chosen

13And He wentG305 upG305 on 22the mountainG3735 and 23summonedG4341 those whomG3739 He HimselfG846 wantedG2309, and they cameG565 to Him. 14And He appointedG4160 twelveG1427, soG2443 thatG2443 they would be with Him and that He could sendG649 them outG649 to preachG2784, 15and to haveG2192 authorityG1849 to castG1544 outG1544 the demonsG1140. 16And He appointedG4160 the twelveG1427: 24SimonG4613 (to whom He gaveG2007 the nameG3686 PeterG4074), 1725JamesG2385 the son of ZebedeeG2199 and JohnG2491 the brotherG80 of 26JamesG2385 (to them He gaveG2007 the nameG3686 BoanergesG993, whichG3739 meansG1510, “SonsG5207 of ThunderG1027”); 18and AndrewG406, PhilipG5376, BartholomewG918, MatthewG3102, ThomasG2381, 27JamesG2385 the son of AlphaeusG256, ThaddaeusG2280, and SimonG4613 the 28ZealotG2581; 19and JudasG2455 IscariotG2469, whoG3739 alsoG2532 betrayedG3860 Him.

20And He cameG2064 2930homeG3624, and the 31crowdG3793 gatheredG4905 againG3825, 32toG5620 suchG5620 anG5620 extentG5620 thatG5620 they couldG1410 not evenG3366 eatG2068 33a mealG740. 21And when 34His own 35people heardG191 about this, they cameG1831 outG1831 to takeG2902 custodyG2902 of Him; for they were sayingG3004, “36He has lostG1839 His sensesG1839.” 22The scribesG1122 who cameG2597 downG2597 37from JerusalemG2414 were sayingG3004, “He 38is possessedG2192 by 3940BeelzebulG954,” and “41He castsG1544 outG1544 the demonsG1140 by the rulerG758 of the demonsG1140.” 2342And so He calledG4341 them to Himself and began speakingG3004 to them in 43parablesG3850: “HowG4459 canG1410 44SatanG4567 castG1544 outG1544 SatanG4567? 24And ifG1437 a kingdomG932 is dividedG3307 againstG1909 itselfG1438, that kingdomG932 cannotG1410G3756 standG2476. 25IfG1437 a houseG3614 is dividedG3307 againstG1909 itselfG1438, that houseG3614 will not be ableG1410 to standG2476. 26And ifG1487 45SatanG4567 has risenG450 upG450 againstG1909 himselfG1438 and is dividedG3307, he cannotG1410G3756 standG2476, but 46he is finishedG5056! 2747But noG3762 oneG3762 canG1410 enterG1525 the strongG2478 man’sG2478 houseG3614 and plunderG1283 his propertyG4632 unlessG1437G3361 he firstG4413 tiesG1210 upG1210 the strongG2478 manG2478, and thenG5119 he will plunderG1283 his houseG3614.

28“48TrulyG281 I sayG3004 to you, allG3956 sinsG265 will be forgivenG863 the sonsG5207 and daughters of menG444, and whateverG3745G1437 blasphemiesG987G988 they commitG987; 29but 49whoeverG3739G302 blasphemesG987 againstG1519 the HolyG40 SpiritG4151 neverG3756G1519G165 hasG2192 forgivenessG859, but is guiltyG1777 of an eternalG166 sinG265”-- 30becauseG3754 they were sayingG3004, “He hasG2192 an uncleanG169 spiritG4151.”

3150ThenG2532 His motherG3384 and His brothersG80 cameG2064, and while standingG4739 outsideG1854 they sentG649 word to Him, callingG2564 for Him. 32And a crowdG3793 was sittingG2521 aroundG4012 Him, and they saidG3004 to Him, “BeholdG2400, Your motherG3384 and Your brothersG80 are outsideG1854 lookingG2212 forG2212 You.” 33AnsweringG611 them, He saidG3004, “WhoG5101 are My motherG3384 and My brothersG80?” 34And lookingG4017 aroundG4017 at thoseG3588 who were sittingG2521 aroundG4012G2945 Him, He saidG3004, “51HereG2396 areG2396 My motherG3384 and My brothersG80! 35For whoeverG3739G302 52doesG4160 the willG2307 of GodG2316, thisG3778 is My brotherG80, and sisterG79, and motherG3384.”
