Ezekiel Chapter 1

The Vision of Four Figures

1Now it cameH1961 aboutH1961 in the thirtiethH7970 yearH8141, on the fifthH2568 day of the fourthH7243 monthH2320, while I was by the 1riverH5104 ChebarH3529 amongH8432 the exilesH1473, the 2heavensH8064 were openedH6605 and I sawH7200 34visionsH4759 of GodH430. 2(On the fifthH2568 of the monthH2320 5in the 6fifthH2549 yearH8141 of KingH4428 Jehoiachin’sH3078 exileH1546, 3the 7wordH1697 of the LordH3068 cameH1961 expresslyH1961 to EzekielH3168 the priestH3548, sonH1121 of BuziH941, in the 8landH776 of the ChaldeansH3778 by the riverH5104 ChebarH3529; and thereH8033 9the handH3027 of the LordH3068 cameH1961 upon him.)

4As I lookedH7200, beholdH2009, a 10highH5591 windH7307 was comingH935 from the northH6828, a greatH1419 cloudH6051 with fireH784 flashingH3947 intermittentlyH3947 and a brightH5051 lightH5051 aroundH5439 it, and in its midstH8432 something like 11gleamingH5869 12metalH2830 in the midstH8432 of the fireH784. 5And withinH8432 it there were figuresH1823 resemblingH1823 13fourH702 livingH2421 beingsH2421. And thisH2088 was their appearanceH4758: they had humanH120 14formH1823. 6EachH259 of them had 15fourH702 facesH6440 and 16fourH702 wingsH3671. 7Their legsH7272 were straightH3477 and 17their feetH7272 were like a calf’sH5695 18hoofH3709H7272, and they sparkledH5340 like 19polishedH7044 bronzeH5178. 8UnderH8478 their wingsH3671 on their 20fourH702 sidesH7253 were humanH120 21handsH3027. As for the facesH6440 and wingsH3671 of the fourH702 of them, 9their wingsH3671 touchedH2266 oneH802 anotherH269; their faces did 22not turnH5437 when they movedH1980, eachH376 23wentH1980 straightH413H5676H6440 forwardH6440. 10As for the 24formH1823 of their facesH6440, each had a humanH120 25faceH6440; 26all fourH702 had the faceH6440 of a lionH743 on the rightH3225 and the faceH6440 of a bullH7794 on the leftH8040, and 27all fourH702 had the faceH6440 of an eagleH5404. 11Such were their facesH6440. Their wingsH3671 were spreadH6504 outH6504 aboveH4480H4605; eachH376 had twoH8147 touchingH2266 anotherH376 being, and 28twoH8147 coveringH3680 their bodiesH1472. 12And 29eachH376 wentH1980 straightH413H5676H6440 forwardH6440; 30whereverH413H834H8033 the spiritH7307 was about to goH1980, they would goH1980, withoutH3808 turningH5437 as they wentH1980. 1331In the midst of the livingH2421 beingsH2421 there was something that lookedH4758 like burningH1197 coalsH1513 of 32fireH784, 33likeH4758 torchesH3940 movingH1980 amongH996 the livingH2421 beingsH2421. The fireH784 was brightH5051, and lightningH1300 was 34flashingH3318 from the fireH784. 14And the livingH2421 beingsH2421 35ranH7519 backH7725 and forthH7725 likeH4758 boltsH965 ofH965 36lightningH965.

15Now as I lookedH7200 at the livingH2421 beingsH2421, beholdH2009, there was oneH259 37wheelH212 on the groundH776 besideH681 the livingH2421 beingsH2421, for 38each of the fourH702 of them. 16The 39appearanceH4758 of the wheelsH212 and their workmanshipH4639 was like 40sparklingH5869 41topazH8658, and all fourH702 of them had the sameH259 formH1823, their appearanceH4758 and workmanshipH4639 being as ifH3512 42one wheelH212 were withinH8432 anotherH212. 17Whenever they 43movedH1980, they 44movedH1980 in any of their fourH702 45directionsH7253 withoutH3808 46turningH5437 as they 47movedH1980. 18As for their rimsH1354, they were highH1363 and awesomeH3374, and the rimsH1354 of all fourH702 of them were 4849coveredH4392 with eyesH5869 allH5439 aroundH5439. 1950Whenever the livingH2421 beingsH2421 51movedH1980, the wheelsH212 52movedH1980 with them. And whenever the livingH2421 beingsH2421 53roseH5375 from the earthH776, the wheelsH212 roseH5375 also. 2054WhereverH5921H834H8033 the spiritH7307 was about to goH1980, they would goH1980 in that directionH803355. And the wheelsH212 roseH5375 justH5980 as they did; for the spiritH7307 of the livingH2421 56beingsH2421 was in the wheelsH212. 2157Whenever those wentH1980, they wentH1980; and whenever those stoppedH5975, they stoppedH5975. And whenever those roseH5375 from the earthH776, the wheelsH212 roseH5375 justH5980 as they did; for the spiritH7307 of the livingH2421 58beingsH2421 was in the wheelsH212.

Vision of Divine Glory

22Now 59overH5921 the headsH7218 of the livingH2421 60beingsH2421 there was something likeH1823 an expanseH7549, like the awesomeH3372 gleamH5869 of crystalH7140, spreadH5186 outH5186 overH5921H4605 their headsH7218. 23UnderH8478 the expanseH7549 their wingsH3671 were stretched out straightH3477, oneH802 towardH413 the otherH269; eachH376 oneH376 also had 61twoH8147 wings coveringH3680 its bodyH1472 on the oneH2008 sideH2008 and on the otherH2008. 24And I also heardH8085 the soundH6963 of their wingsH3671, like the 62soundH6963 of abundantH7227 watersH4325 as they wentH1980, like the 63voiceH6963 of 64the AlmightyH7706, a soundH6963 of a crowdH1999 like the 65soundH6963 of an armyH4264 campH4264; whenever they stoppedH5975, they letH7503 downH7503 their wingsH3671. 25And a voiceH6963 cameH1961 from aboveH5921 the 66expanseH7549 that was overH5921 their headsH7218; whenever they stoodH5975 stillH5975, they letH7503 downH7503 their wingsH3671.

26Now 67aboveH4480H4605 the expanseH7549 that was overH5921 their headsH7218 there was somethingH1823 68resemblingH1823 a throneH3678, like 6970lapisH68H5601 lazuliH68H5601 in appearanceH4758; and on that whichH1823 resembledH1823 a throneH3678, highH4480H4605 up, was a figureH1823 with the appearanceH4758 of a 71manH120. 27Then I 72noticedH7200 from the appearanceH4758 of His waistH4975 and upwardH4605 something 73like gleamingH5869 74metalH2830 that lookedH4758 like fireH784 allH5439 aroundH5439 withinH1004 it, and from the appearanceH4758 of His waistH4975 and downwardH4295 I sawH7200 somethingH4758 like fireH784; and there was a radianceH5051 aroundH5439 Him. 28Like the appearanceH4758 of the 75rainbowH7198 76in the cloudsH6051 on a rainyH1653 dayH3117, soH3651 was the appearanceH4758 of the surroundingH5439 radianceH5051. SuchH1931 was the appearanceH4758 of the likenessH1823 of the 77gloryH3519 of the LordH3068. And when I sawH7200 it, I 78fellH5307 on my faceH6440 and heardH8085 a voiceH6963 speakingH1696.
