Mark 13
Things to Come
11As He was goingG1607 outG1607 of the templeG2413, oneG1520 of His disciplesG3101 saidG3004 to Him, “TeacherG1320, lookG2396! 2WhatG4217 wonderfulG4217 stonesG3037 and 3whatG4217 wonderfulG4217 buildingsG3619!” 2And JesusG2424 saidG3004 to him, “Do you seeG991 theseG3778 greatG3173 buildingsG3619? 4Not one stoneG3037 will be leftG863 upon anotherG3037, whichG3739 will not be tornG2647 downG2647.”
3As He was sittingG2521 on 5the MountG3735 of OlivesG1636 oppositeG2713 the templeG2413, 6PeterG4074, 7JamesG2385, JohnG2491, and AndrewG406 were questioningG1905 Him privatelyG2596G2398, 4“TellG3004 us, whenG4219 will theseG3778 thingsG3778 comeG1510 aboutG1510, and whatG5101 will be the 8signG4592 whenG3752 allG3956 theseG3778 thingsG3778 areG3195 goingG3195 toG3195 be fulfilledG4931?” 5And JesusG2424 beganG757 to sayG3004 to them, “SeeG991 to it that noG3361 oneG5100 misleadsG4105 you. 6ManyG4183 will comeG2064 in My nameG3686, sayingG3004, ‘9I amG1510 He!’ and they will misleadG4105 manyG4183. 7WhenG3752 you hearG191 of warsG4171 and rumorsG189 of warsG4171, do not be alarmedG2360; those things mustG1163 takeG1096 placeG1096; but that is not yetG3768 the endG5056. 8For nationG1484 will riseG1453 upG1453 againstG1909 nationG1484, and kingdomG932 againstG1909 kingdomG932; there will be earthquakesG4578 in variousG2596 placesG5117; there will also be faminesG3042. TheseG3778 thingsG3778 are only the beginningG746 of birthG5604 painsG5604.
9“But 10be on your guardG991; for they will 11handG3860 you overG3860 to the 12courtsG4892, and you will be floggedG1194 13in the synagoguesG4864, and you will standG2476 beforeG1909 governorsG2232 and kingsG935 for My sakeG1752, as a testimonyG3142 to them. 1014And the gospelG2098 mustG1163 firstG4413 be preachedG2784 to allG3956 the nationsG1484. 1115And whenG3752 they 16arrestG71 you and handG3860 you overG3860, do not worryG4305 beforehandG4305 aboutG4305 whatG5101 you are to sayG2980, but sayG2980 whateverG3739G1437 is givenG1325 you at that timeG5610; for you are not the ones speakingG2980, but it is the HolyG40 SpiritG4151. 12And brotherG80 will betrayG3860 brotherG80 to deathG2288, and a fatherG3962 his childG5043; and childrenG5043 will riseG1881 upG1881 againstG1909 parentsG1118 and 17have them putG2289 toG2289 deathG2289. 13And 18you will be hatedG3404 by everyoneG3956 becauseG1223 of My nameG3686, but it is the one who has enduredG5278 to the endG5056 whoG3778 will be savedG4982.
14“NowG1161 19whenG3752 you seeG3708 the 20abominationG946 of desolationG2050 standingG2476 whereG3699 it shouldG1163 not be--21let the 22readerG314 understandG3539--thenG5119 thoseG3588 whoG3588 are in JudeaG2449 must fleeG5343 to the mountainsG3735. 152324WhoeverG3588 is on the 25housetopG1430 must not goG2597 downG2597, norG3366 goG1525 inG1525 to getG142 anythingG5100 out of his houseG3614. 16And 26whoeverG3588 is in the fieldG68 must not turnG1994 backG3694G1994 to getG142 his cloakG2440. 17But woeG3759 to thoseG3588 womenG3588 who are pregnantG1064, and to thoseG3588 who are nursingG2337 babiesG2337 in thoseG3588 daysG2250! 18MoreoverG1161, prayG4336 that it will not happenG1096 in winterG5494. 19For thoseG1565 daysG2250 will be suchG3634 a time of tribulationG2347 as has not occurredG1096 27sinceG575 the beginningG746 of the creationG2937 whichG3739 GodG2316 createdG2936 untilG2193 nowG3568, and neverG3756G3361 will again. 20And ifG1487 the LordG2962 had not shortenedG2856 those daysG2250, noG3756G3956 28lifeG4561 would have been savedG4982; but for the sakeG1223 of the 29electG1588, whomG3739 He choseG1586, He shortenedG2856 the daysG2250. 21And thenG5119 ifG1437 anyoneG5100 saysG3004 to you, ‘LookG2396, hereG5602 is the 30ChristG5547’; or, ‘LookG2396, thereG1563 He is’; do not believeG4100 it; 22for falseG5580 christsG5580 and 31falseG5578 prophetsG5578 will ariseG1453, and will provideG4160 32signsG4592 and 33wondersG5059, inG4314 orderG4314 toG4314 misleadG635, ifG1487 possibleG1415, the electG1588. 23But bewareG991; I have toldG4275 you everythingG3956 inG4275 advanceG4275.
The Return of Christ
24“But in thoseG1565 daysG2250, afterG3326 that tribulationG2347, 34the sunG2246 will be darkenedG4654 and the moonG4582 will not giveG1325 its lightG5338, 2535and the starsG792 will be fallingG4098 from heavenG3772, and the powersG1411 that are in the heavensG3772 will be shakenG4531. 26And thenG5119 they will seeG3708 36the SonG5207 of ManG444 37comingG2064 in cloudsG3507 with greatG4183 powerG1411 and gloryG1391. 27And thenG5119 He will sendG649 forthG649 the angelsG32, and 38will gatherG1996 togetherG1996 His 39electG1588 from the fourG5064 windsG417, 40from the endG206 of the earthG1093 to the endG206 of heavenG3772.
28“NowG1161 learnG3129 the parableG3850 from the figG4808 treeG4808: as soonG3752G2235 as its branchG2798 has becomeG1096 tenderG527 and sproutsG1631 its leavesG5444, you knowG1097 that summerG2330 is nearG1451. 29SoG3779 you tooG2532, whenG3752 you seeG3708 theseG3778 thingsG3778 happeningG1096, 41recognizeG1097 that 42He is nearG1451, right at the 43doorG2374. 30TrulyG281 I sayG3004 to you, thisG3778 generationG1074 will not passG3928 awayG3928 untilG3360 allG3956 theseG3778 thingsG3778 takeG1096 placeG1096. 31HeavenG3772 and earthG1093 will passG3928 awayG3928, but My wordsG3056 will not passG3928 awayG3928. 3244But aboutG4012 that dayG2250 orG2228 hourG5610 noG3762 oneG3762 knowsG3609, not evenG3761 the angelsG32 in heavenG3772, norG3761 the SonG5207, but the FatherG3962 alone.
33“WatchG991 outG991, 45stayG69 alertG69; for you do not knowG3609 whenG4219 the appointed timeG2540 is. 3446It is likeG5613 a manG444 awayG590 onG590 aG590 journeyG590, who upon leavingG863 his houseG3614 and 47puttingG1325 his slavesG1401 in chargeG1849, assigning to eachG1538 oneG1538 his taskG2041, alsoG2532 commandedG1781 the doorkeeperG2377 to stayG1127 alertG1127. 35ThereforeG3767, 48stayG1127 alertG1127--for you do not knowG3609 whenG4219 the 49masterG2962 of the houseG3614 is comingG2064, whetherG2228 in the eveningG3796, at midnightG3317, orG2228 50whenG4219 the roosterG219 crowsG219, orG2228 51in the morningG4404-- 36soG3361 thatG3361 he does notG3361 comeG2064 suddenlyG1810 and findG2147 you 52asleepG2518. 37WhatG3739 I sayG3004 to you I sayG3004 to allG3956: ‘53StayG1127 alertG1127!’”
