God Is Awesome
1The 1pronouncementH4853 of 2NinevehH5210. The bookH5612 of the visionH2377 of NahumH5151 the ElkoshiteH512:
2A 3jealousH7072 and avengingH5358 GodH410 is the LordH3068; The LordH3068 is 4avengingH5358 and 5wrathfulH1167H2534. The LordH3068 takesH5358 6vengeanceH5358 on His adversariesH6862, And He reservesH5201 wrathH2534 for His enemiesH340.3The LordH3068 is 7slowH750 to angerH639 and greatH1419 in powerH3581, And the LordH3068 will byH5352 noH3808 meansH5352 leaveH5352 the guilty unpunishedH5352. In the 8galeH5492 and the stormH8183 is His wayH1870, And 9cloudsH6051 are the dustH80 beneath His feetH7272.4He 10rebukesH1605 the seaH3220 and driesH3001 it upH3001; He driesH2717 upH2717 allH3605 the riversH5104. 11BashanH1316 and CarmelH3760 witherH535, The blossomsH6525 of LebanonH3844 witherH535.5MountainsH2022 12quakeH7493 becauseH4480 of Him, And the hillsH1389 13comeH4127 apartH4127; Indeed the earthH776 is 14upheavedH5375 by His presenceH6440, The 15worldH8398 and allH3605 the inhabitantsH3427 in it.616WhoH4310 can standH5975 beforeH6440 His indignationH2195? WhoH4310 can endureH6965 the 17burningH2740 of His angerH639? His 18wrathH2534 gushesH5413 forthH5413 like fireH784, And the 19rocksH6697 are brokenH5422 upH5422 by Him.7The LordH3068 is 20goodH2896, A strongholdH4581 in the dayH3117 of troubleH6869, And 21He knowsH3045 those who takeH2620 refugeH2620 in Him.8But with an 22overflowingH5674 floodH7858 He will makeH6213 a completeH3617 endH3617 of 23its siteH4725, And will pursueH7291 His enemiesH340 into 24darknessH2822.
9WhateverH4100 you 25deviseH2803 againstH413 the LordH3068, He will makeH6213 a 26completeH3617 endH3617 of it. DistressH6869 will not riseH6965 upH6965 twiceH6471.10LikeH5704 tangledH5440 27thornsH5518, And like those who are 28drunkenH5433 with their drinkH5435, They are 29consumedH398 Like stubbleH7179 completelyH4392 driedH3002 upH3002.11From you has goneH3318 outH3318 One who 30plottedH2803 evilH7463 againstH5921 the LordH3068, A 3132wickedH1100 counselorH3289. 12ThisH3541 isH3541 whatH3541 the LordH3068 saysH559: “ThoughH518 they are at fullH8003 strength and soH3651 they are manyH7227, SoH3651 also they will be 33cutH1494 offH1494 and passH5674 awayH5674. Though I have afflictedH6031 you, I will afflictH6031 you 34noH3808 longerH5750.13So nowH6258, I will 35breakH7665 his yokeH4132 from upon you, And I will tearH5423 your shacklesH4147 toH5423 piecesH5423.”
14The LordH3068 has issuedH6680 aH6680 commandH6680 concerningH5921 36you: “37Your nameH8034 will 38noH3808 longerH5750 be perpetuatedH2232. I will eliminateH3772 the 39carvedH6459 imageH6459 and the castH4541 metalH4541 imageH4541 From the houseH1004 of your godsH430. I will prepareH7760 your 40graveH6913, For you areH7043 contemptibleH7043.”
1541BeholdH2009, 42on the mountainsH2022, the feetH7272 of him who bringsH1319 goodH1319 newsH1319, Who announcesH8085 peaceH7965! 43CelebrateH2287 your feastsH2282, JudahH3063, PayH7999 your vowsH5088. For 44neverH3808H5750 againH3254 will the 45wickedH1100 one passH5674 through you; He is 46eliminatedH3772 completelyH3605.
