Genesis 2
Darby Bible
1And the heavensH8064 and the earthH776 and all their hostH6635 were finishedH3615. 2And 1GodH430 had finishedH3615 on the seventhH7637 dayH3117 his workH4399 which he had madeH6213; and he restedH7673 on the seventhH7637 dayH3117 from all his workH4399 which he had madeH6213. 3And 2GodH430 blessedH1288 the seventhH7637 dayH3117, and hallowed it, because that on it he restedH7673 from all his workH4399 which 3GodH430 had createdH1254 in makingH6213 it. 4These are the histories of the heavensH8064 and the earthH776, when they were createdH1254, in the dayH3117 that Jehovah Elohim madeH6213 earthH776 and heavensH8064, 5and every shrub of the fieldH7704 before it was in the earthH776, and every herb of the fieldH7704 before it grew; for Jehovah Elohim had not caused it to rainH4305 on the earthH776, and there was no manH120 to till the groundH776. 6But a mist wentH5927 up from the earthH776, and moistened the whole surfaceH6440 of the groundH776. 7And Jehovah Elohim formedH3335 ManH120, dustH6083 of the groundH127, and breathed into his nostrilsH639 the breathH5397 of lifeH5315; and ManH120 becameH1961 a living soulH5315. 8And Jehovah Elohim plantedH5193 a gardenH1588 in EdenH5731 eastward, and there putH7760 ManH120 whom he had formedH3335. 9And out of the groundH127 Jehovah Elohim made every treeH6086 growH6779 that is pleasant to the sightH4758, and goodH2896 for foodH3978; and the treeH6086 of lifeH2416, in the midstH8432 of the gardenH1588, and the treeH6086 of the knowledgeH1847 of goodH2896 and evilH7451. 10And a riverH5104 wentH3318 out of EdenH5731, to waterH8248 the gardenH1588; and from thence it wasH1961 parted, and becameH1961 fourH702 main streams. 11The nameH8034 of the oneH259 is Pison: that is it which surroundsH5437 the whole landH776 of HavilahH2341, whereH834 the goldH2091 is. 12And the goldH2091 of that landH776 is goodH2896; bdelliumH916 and the onyxH7718 stoneH68 are there. 13And the nameH8034 of the secondH8145 riverH5104 is GihonH1521: that is it which surroundsH5437 the whole landH776 of CushH3568. 14And the nameH8034 of the thirdH7992 riverH5104 is Hiddekel: that is it which flows forward toward AsshurH804. And the fourthH7243 riverH5104, that is EuphratesH6578. 15And Jehovah Elohim tookH3947 ManH120, and put him into the gardenH1588 of EdenH5731, to till it and to guardH8104 it. 16And Jehovah Elohim commandedH6680 ManH120, sayingH559, Of every treeH6086 of the gardenH1588 thou shalt freely eatH398; 17but of the treeH6086 of the knowledgeH1847 of goodH2896 and evilH7451, thou shalt not eatH398 of it; for in the dayH3117 that thou eatest of it thou shalt certainly dieH4191. 18And Jehovah Elohim saidH559, It is not goodH2896 that ManH120 should beH1961 aloneH905; I will makeH6213 him a helpmate, his like. 19And out of the groundH127 Jehovah Elohim had formedH3335 every animalH2416 of the fieldH7704 and all fowl of the heavensH8064, and broughtH935 [them] to ManH120, to seeH7200 what he would callH7121 them; and whatever ManH120 calledH7121 each living soulH5315, that was its nameH8034. 20And ManH120 gave namesH8034 to all cattleH929, and to the fowl of the heavensH8064, and to every beast of the fieldH7704; but as for Adam, he foundH4672 no helpmate, his like. 21And Jehovah Elohim caused a deepH8639 sleepH3462 to fallH5307 upon ManH120; and he sleptH3462. And he tookH3947 oneH259 of his ribs and closed up fleshH1320 in its stead. 22And Jehovah Elohim builtH1129 the rib that he had takenH3947 from ManH120 into a womanH802; and broughtH935 her to ManH120. 23And ManH376 saidH559, This timeH6471 it is boneH6106 of my bonesH6106 and fleshH1320 of my fleshH1320: this shall be calledH7121 WomanH802, because this was takenH3947 out of a manH376. 24ThereforeH3651 shall a manH376 leaveH5800 his fatherH1 and his motherH517, and cleave to his wifeH802; and they shall becomeH1961 oneH259 fleshH1320. 25And they wereH1961 both nakedH6174, ManH120 and his wifeH802, and wereH1961 not ashamedH954.
