Genesis 2

1And the heavensH8064 and the earthH776 were finishedH3615, and all the hostH6635 of them. 2And on the seventhH7637 dayH3117 GodH430 finishedH3615 his workH4399 which he had madeH6213; and he restedH7673 on the seventhH7637 dayH3117 from all his workH4399 which he had madeH6213. 3And GodH430 blessedH1288 the seventhH7637 dayH3117, and hallowed it; because that in it he restedH7673 from all his workH4399 which GodH430 had createdH1254 and madeH6213.

4These are the generationsH8435 of the heavensH8064 and of the earthH776 when they were createdH1254, in the dayH3117 that Jehovah GodH430 madeH6213 earthH776 and heavenH8064. 5And no plantH6212 of the fieldH7704 was yet in the earthH776, and no herb of the fieldH7704 had yet sprung up; for Jehovah GodH430 had not caused it to rainH4305 upon the earthH776: and there was not a manH120 to till the groundH776; 6but there wentH5927 up a mist from the earthH776, and wateredH8248 the whole faceH6440 of the groundH776. 7And Jehovah GodH430 formedH3335 manH120 of the dustH6083 of the groundH127, and breathed into his nostrilsH639 the breathH5397 of lifeH5315; and manH120 becameH1961 a living soulH5315. 8And Jehovah GodH430 plantedH5193 a gardenH1588 eastward, in EdenH5731; and there he putH7760 the manH120 whom he had formedH3335. 9And out of the groundH127 made Jehovah GodH430 to growH6779 every treeH6086 that is pleasant to the sightH4758, and goodH2896 for foodH3978; the treeH6086 of lifeH2416 also in the midstH8432 of the gardenH1588, and the treeH6086 of the knowledgeH1847 of goodH2896 and evilH7451. 10And a riverH5104 wentH3318 out of EdenH5731 to waterH8248 the gardenH1588; and from thence it wasH1961 parted, and becameH1961 fourH702 headsH7218. 11The nameH8034 of the first is Pishon: that is it which compasseth the whole landH776 of HavilahH2341, whereH834 there is goldH2091; 12and the goldH2091 of that landH776 is goodH2896: there is bdelliumH916 and the onyxH7718 stoneH68. 13And the nameH8034 of the secondH8145 riverH5104 is GihonH1521: the same is it that compasseth the whole landH776 of CushH3568. 14And the nameH8034 of the thirdH7992 riverH5104 is Hiddekel: that is it which goeth in front of AssyriaH804. And the fourthH7243 riverH5104 is the EuphratesH6578. 15And Jehovah GodH430 tookH3947 the manH120, and put him into the gardenH1588 of EdenH5731 to dress it and to keepH8104 it. 16And Jehovah GodH430 commandedH6680 the manH120, sayingH559, Of every treeH6086 of the gardenH1588 thou mayest freely eatH398: 17but of the treeH6086 of the knowledgeH1847 of goodH2896 and evilH7451, thou shalt not eatH398 of it: for in the dayH3117 that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely dieH4191.

18And Jehovah GodH430 saidH559, It is not goodH2896 that the manH120 should beH1961 aloneH905; I will makeH6213 him a helpH5828 meet for him. 19And out of the groundH127 Jehovah GodH430 formedH3335 every beast of the fieldH7704, and every birdH5775 of the heavensH8064; and broughtH935 them unto the manH120 to seeH7200 what he would callH7121 them: and whatsoever the manH120 calledH7121 every living creatureH5315, that was the nameH8034 thereof. 20And the manH120 gave namesH8034 to all cattleH929, and to the birdsH5775 of the heavensH8064, and to every beast of the fieldH7704; but for manH120 there was not foundH4672 a helpH5828 meet for him. 21And Jehovah GodH430 caused a deepH8639 sleepH3462 to fallH5307 upon the manH120, and he sleptH3462; and he tookH3947 oneH259 of his ribs, and closed up the fleshH1320 instead thereof: 22and the rib, which Jehovah GodH430 had takenH3947 from the manH120, made he a womanH802, and broughtH935 her unto the manH120. 23And the manH376 saidH559, This is now boneH6106 of my bonesH6106, and fleshH1320 of my fleshH1320: she shall be calledH7121 WomanH802, because she was takenH3947 out of ManH376. 24ThereforeH3651 shall a manH376 leaveH5800 his fatherH1 and his motherH517, and shall cleave unto his wifeH802: and they shall beH1961 oneH259 fleshH1320. 25And they wereH1961 both nakedH6174, the manH120 and his wifeH802, and wereH1961 not ashamedH954.
