1And AbramH87 wasH1961 ninety-nine yearsH8141 old, when Jehovah appearedH7200 to AbramH87, and saidH559 to him, I [am] the AlmightyH7706 1GodH410: walkH1980 before my faceH6440, and beH1961 perfectH8549. 2And I will setH5414 my covenantH1285 between me and thee, and will veryH3966 greatly multiplyH7235 thee. 3And AbramH87 fellH5307 on his faceH6440; and 2GodH430 talked with him, sayingH559, 4It is I: behold, my covenantH1285 is with thee, and thou shalt beH1961 a fatherH1 of a multitudeH1995 of nationsH1471. 5And thy nameH8034 shall no more beH1961 calledH7121 AbramH87, but thy nameH8034 shall beH1961 AbrahamH85; for a fatherH1 of a multitudeH1995 of nationsH1471 have I madeH5414 thee. 6And I will makeH5414 thee exceedinglyH3966 fruitfulH6509, and I will makeH5414 nationsH1471 of thee, and kingsH4428 shall comeH3318 out of thee. 7And I will establishH6965 my covenantH1285 between me and thee, and thy seedH2233 after thee in their generationsH1755, for an everlasting covenantH1285, to beH1961 a 3GodH430 to thee, and to thy seedH2233 after thee. 8And I giveH5414 to thee, and to thy seedH2233 after thee, the landH776 of thy sojourning, all the landH776 of CanaanH3667, for an everlasting possessionH272; and I will beH1961 a 4GodH430 to them. 9And 5GodH430 saidH559 to AbrahamH85, And [as for] thee, thou shalt keepH8104 my covenantH1285, thou and thy seedH2233 after thee in their generationsH1755. 10This is my covenantH1285 which ye shall keepH8104, between me and you and thy seedH2233 after thee — that every maleH2145 among you be circumcisedH4135. 11And ye shall circumcise the fleshH1320 of your foreskinH6190; and [that] shall beH1961 a signH226 of the covenantH1285 between me and you. 12And at eightH8083 daysH3117 old shall every maleH2145 in your generationsH1755 be circumcisedH4135 among you — he who is born in the houseH1004, and he who is bought with moneyH3701, any stranger who is not of thy seedH2233. 13He who is born in thy houseH1004, and he who is bought with thy moneyH3701, must beH1961 circumcisedH4135; and my covenantH1285 shall beH1961 in your fleshH1320 for an everlasting covenantH1285. 14And the uncircumcisedH6189 maleH2145 who hath not been circumcisedH4135 in the fleshH1320 of his foreskinH6190, that soulH5315 shall be cutH3772 off from his peoplesH5971: he hath brokenH6565 my covenantH1285. 15And 6GodH430 saidH559 to AbrahamH85, [As to] SaraiH8297 thy wifeH802, thou shalt not callH7121 her nameH8034 SaraiH8297, but SarahH8283 shall be her nameH8034. 16And I will blessH1288 her, and I will giveH5414 thee a sonH1121 alsoH1571 of her; and I will blessH1288 her, and she shall becomeH1961 nationsH1471: kingsH4428 of peoplesH5971 shall beH1961 of her. 17And AbrahamH85 fellH5307 on his faceH6440 and laughedH6711, and saidH559 in his heartH3820, Shall [a child] be bornH3205 to him that is a hundredH3967 yearsH8141 old? and shall SarahH8283, who is ninetyH8673 yearsH8141 old, bearH3205? 18And AbrahamH85 saidH559 to 7GodH430, Oh that IshmaelH3458 might liveH2421 before thee! 19And 8GodH430 saidH559, SarahH8283 thy wifeH802 shall indeed bearH3205 thee a sonH1121; and thou shalt callH7121 his nameH8034 IsaacH3327; and I will establishH6965 my covenantH1285 with him, for an everlasting covenantH1285 for his seedH2233 after him. 20And for IshmaelH3458 I have heardH8085 thee: behold, I will blessH1288 him, and will makeH5414 him fruitfulH6509, and will veryH3966 greatly multiplyH7235 him; twelve princesH5387 shall he beget, and I will makeH5414 him a greatH1419 nationH1471. 21But my covenantH1285 will I establishH6965 with IsaacH3327, whom SarahH8283 shall bearH3205 to thee at this appointedH4150 timeH4150 in the next yearH8141. 22And he left off talking with him; and 9GodH430 wentH5927 up from AbrahamH85. 23And AbrahamH85 tookH3947 IshmaelH3458 his sonH1121, and all who were born in his houseH1004, and all who were bought with his moneyH3701 — every maleH2145 among the people of Abraham's houseH1004 — and circumcisedH4135 the fleshH1320 of their foreskinH6190 on that same dayH3117, as 10GodH430 had saidH1696 to him. 24And AbrahamH85 was ninety-nine yearsH8141 old when he was circumcisedH4135 in the fleshH1320 of his foreskinH6190. 25And IshmaelH3458 his sonH1121 was thirteen yearsH8141 old when he was circumcisedH4135 in the fleshH1320 of his foreskinH6190. 26In the selfsame dayH3117 was AbrahamH85 circumcisedH4135, and IshmaelH3458 his sonH1121; 27and all the menH376 of his houseH1004, born in his houseH1004, or bought with moneyH3701 of the stranger, were circumcisedH4135 with him.
